'!embers prt:sent,J.I.Wilson,J.F.Lunimus,T.N.Gautier,W.B.Moore,J.J.Holly and L.Granger. F.W.Uahn,H'aq.,eddresaed the Council making request that he be granted a permit to have constructed a Spur Track from the main line of t.e F.F.C.R'y., to his Rock luary at Twenty Third Street and Avenue "P",said track to cross Avenue "F". Moved by J.J.Holly and seconded by W.B.Moore that the permit for the laying of a spur track At Twenty Third Street and Avenue "F" as requested by F.W.Hahn,Esq., be granted: Motion carried. Moved by J.E.Lummus and seconded by J.J.Holly that the Chief of the Fire Depart- .eat be authorized to have placed at the corner of Avenue "D" and Twelth Street a suit- able alarm bell to be rung as a warning to teams and pedestrians when the Fire Depart- ment has occasion to make a run past the said corner: Motion carried. Moved by J.E.Lummus and seconded by T.N.Gautier that the Police Department be in- structed to clear the streets for the passage of the teama of the Fire Department when an alarm is turned in of a fire: Motion carried. Gentlenmon;- The underc.igned respectfully petitions your Honorable Body for r, permit to erect a solid concrete and rock wall,fifteen feet high,ninety five feet in length and eighteen inches in thickness at the base and twelve inches at the top,said wall to ex- tend from the Norther extremity of the Gralynn Hotel,located upon lots 19 and 20 of Block 125 North,for a distance of Ninety five feet to Avenue "J" in the City of '.liami, said wall to be the b gining of the North aide of a building to be eructed and to be added to the Gralynn Hotel. Moved by J.J.Holly and seconded by J.E.Lummus tnat the above communication be re- ceived and that a permit for t'.e construction of the described wall be granted: Motion carried. fj.140 1 Communication from W.B.Freeman,."ormer Bridge Tender for Twelth Street requesting the payment of '12,95 as compensation for carpenters work done while h was on duty s bridge tender; and payment of $25.00,for the house located on the South East end of the Bridge,which he claims to have built at his own expense while occupied as tender for the nridge. Moved by 0.E.Luaunus and seconded by T.N.lautier that the camunication from W.B. Freeman be received and that payment for servisee in carpenter work while he was em- ployed as Bridge Tender be refused: Motion carried. Moved by J.E.Lummua and seconded by L.Granger that the claim of V.B.Freeman for the sum of $25.00 as value of the small house on tne Feuth Fast end of the Twelth Street Bridge,which he claims to h've erected at his own expense while acting as Bridge Tender be accepted and paid: Motion carried. Gentlemen; - I beg to hand you herewith a copy of the plans and specifications of a Building I wish to construct on lots Five (5) and Six (6) in Block Thirty -Five (35) North,City of Miai_�i,: Coat of Building when finished to be $2,200.00. We,the undersigned business men and property owners ,doing business and owning property on Avenue "D" outside of the fire limits on Avenue "D" respectfully petition your Honorable Body to extend tne Fire -Limits North on Avenue NOW to the F. E. C. P. R. , and extending One Hundr•°d feet Filet and West of said avenue "D"; thu: coa- trolling the erection o wooden buildings within the prescribed Fire-Limits;The erec- tion of which only adds to the fire risk and endangering heavy loss to the property owners from fire. . Moved by J.J.Holly and seconded by J.E..Lummus that the epecificatione,eamples of meterial Etc., for the publication of t,.e City Code and Index, as submitted by the City Attorney be accepted and approved: Motion carried. Moved by J.J.Holly and seconded by J.E.Lummue that bids for the printing or' Five Hundred copies of the Code in conformity with the samples and apeci icatione be adver- tised for, sane to be received at tno next regular meeting of the ,`ity Council to be held May,5th,1910,Council reserving the sight to reject any or all bide: Motion carried.
