The Palace as popular in the late 1920s and 1930s. Ic" Built-in 1913 by Georgia businessman Geder Walker, the Lyric Theater was considered among the finest Black theaters in the South. It anchored Overtown's Little Broadway for decades. In 1988, the Black Archives Foundation acquired the building and restored the theater to its former glory.
