CRA RESOLUTION 12599 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE SOUTHEAST OVERTOWN/PARK WEST COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY ("SEOPW CRA") WITH ATTACHMENT(S), APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE SOUTHEAST OVERTOWN/PARK WEST COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY'S ("SEOPW CRA") PROPOSED GENERAL OPERATING AND TAX INCREMENT FUND BUDGET, ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED AS EXHIBIT "A" IN THE AMOUNT OF $92,443,744, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR COMMENCING OCTOBER 1, 2022, AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 2023; PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF RECITALS AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. I am calling to order the September 22, 2022, Southeast Overtown/Park West CRA (Community Redevelopment Agency) meeting. At this time, I'm going to turn the meeting over to our Executive Director, Mr. James McQueen. Mr. McQueen: Thank you, Madam Chair. We have three items that are to -- that we're asking to be approved. And Attorney Vincent Brown will read those three items into the record. Vincent Brown (Staff Counsel, CRA): Good afternoon. Item 12599, a resolution of the Board of Commissioners of the Southeast Overtown/Park West Community Redevelopment Agency, with attachments, approving and adopting the Southeast Overtown/Park West Community Redevelopment Agency proposed general And budget and tax increment fund budget, attached and incorporated as Exhibit A, in the amount of $92,443,744, for the fiscal year commencing October 1, 2022 and ending September SEOPW CRA Page 2 Printed on 1/12/2023 Southeast Overtown/Park West CRA Meeting Minutes September 22, 2022 30, 2023. Resolution 12600, a resolution of the Board of Commissioners of the Southeast Overtown/Park West Redevelopment Agency authorizing a grant, in the amount not to exceed $21,046.57, to the Black Archives History and Research Foundation of South Florida, Inc. to underwrite the costs associated with the completion of security upgrades. Resolution 12601 will be amended. The attached resolution of the Board of Commissioners of the Southeast Overtown/Park West Community Redevelopment Agency authorizing a grant to the City of Miami Black Police Precinct and Courthouse Museum in the amount of $275, 000 for the first year, commencing October 1, 2022, to October -- September 30, 2023, allowing for three one- year options to renew, subject to funding in subsequent years budget, respectfully totaling $1.1 million of the daily operation of the Black Police Precinct. If there's anyone here that would like to speak on any of the items that are before us now, please step forward. Good afternoon. Terrence Cribbs-Lorrant: Good afternoon. Good afternoon, Chairwoman. Terrence Cribbs-Lorrant, the current museum executive director at the City of Miami Black Police Precinct and Courthouse Museum. I'm here with our vice president of our board. Sergeant Stuart is with us. I want to say to the board thank you once again. For those that have seen and heard me, we have not received. funding from the City since 2016. And so this -- oh, my gosh -- so this opportunity to actually receive these funds to continue the work of preserving the history really does mean a lot to the community and to the history that we continue to preserve in the city. So, I want to thank the board, and I look forward to presenting you all with another tour o f the museum based on these new funds that we'll be able to allocate to our new exhibit.
