File No. 17325 At its March 13, 2025, meeting, the City Commission adopted the above -referenced agenda item, RE.18, authorizing and establishing the District 5 Senior Home Rehabilitation Program, with Three Hundred Thousand and 00/100 Dollars ($300,000.00) from the District 5 share of Miami For Everyone ("MFE") allocated for the Program. The Legislation contained a scrivener's error regarding the effective date. The Legislation has been corrected and incremented to Revision A. SPONSOR(S): Commissioner Christine King WHEREAS, due to rising construction costs within the City of Miami ("City"), the District 5 Commissioner desires to establish the District 5 Senior Home Rehabilitation Program ("Program"), as described herein and in accordance with the guidelines set forth in Exhibit "A," attached and incorporated, as may be amended from time to time, to assist senior income - eligible houseowners to rehabilitate their home in District 5; and WHEREAS, the District 5 Commissioner desires to allocate Three Hundred Thousand and 00/100 Dollars ($300,000.00) from the District 5 share of Miami For Everyone ("MFE") funds for the establishment of the Program; and WHEREAS, the Program will provide up to Ten Thousand Dollars and 00/100 Dollars ($10,000.00) to assist eligible homeowners with the financial assistance needed for necessary home repairs for homes located within District 5; and WHEREAS, the City's Administration recommends the establishment of the District 5 Senior Home Rehabilitation Program, as described in Exhibit "A," attached and incorporated, and allocating Three Hundred Thousand and 00/100 Dollars ($300,000.00) frorn the Distrid 5 share of Miami For Everyone ("MFE") funds for the Program; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this R.esolutior,are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 3. The City Manager is authorized' to negotiate and execute any and all necessary documents, including amendments, extensions, and modifications, all in forms acceptable to the City Attorney, subject to all Federal, State, and Local laws that regulate the use of such funds for said purpose. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
