DISTRICT 5 SENIOR HOME REHABILITATION PROGRAM
The City of Miami ("City") District 5 hereby establishes the District 5 Senior Home Rehabilitation Program ("Program") with the
goal of supporting eligible District 5 senior homeowners that meet the required criteria below to assist with necessary home
repairs (hereinafter each referred to as an "Eligible Homeowners"). This Program will be administered by the City's
Department of Housing and Community Development ("HCD") and will be capitalized utilizing funding allocated from the
District 5 Commissioner's share of Miami For Everyone ("MFE") funds.
The goal of this Program is to provide Eligible Homeowners with a grant not to exceed $10,000 to reimburse for certain
home repair and rehabilitation expenditures that allow such residents to maintain their home as safe and habitable, with a
focus on bathroom accessibility. Funds will be awarded to Eligible Homeowners on a lottery draw basis until funds are fully
expended or until the end period of funding availability, whichever occurs first.
Eligibility Criteria
■ To be determined as an "Eligible Homeowner", each applicant must be a District 5 homeowner that can demonstrate a
valid Homestead Exemption with the Miami -Dade County Appraiser's Office for the current tax year.
■ In order to qualify, the Eligible Homeowner must be the Homeowner over the age of 65, residing within the boundaries
of the City of Miami's District 5.
■ The funds awarded must be used for rehabilitation costs associated with the Homeowners property that must be
located within District 5.
■ The Household income must be between 30% and 80% area median income, adjusted for family size.
NOTE: Guidelines, forms, and other documents related to these programs are subject to change from time to time
to ensure proper utilization of public funding.
