AN ORDINANCE OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AMENDING CHAPTER
38/ARTICLE I OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED,
TITLED "PARKS AND RECREATION/IN GENERAL," BY CREATING SECTION 38-35,
TITLED "NAMING OF CHILDREN'S PARK," TO PROVIDE FOR THE NAMING OF THE
PARCEL OF LAND CONSISTING OF APPROXIMATELY 16,222 SQUARE FEET
LOCATED AT 1320 SOUTHWEST 12 AVENUE, 1330 SOUTHWEST 12 AVENUE,
AND 1211 SOUTHWEST 14 STREET, MIAMI, FLORIDA AND OTHER CONTIGUOUS
PARCELS THAT MAY BE ADDED IN THE FUTURE AS "CHILDREN'S PARK";
FURTHER DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO TAKE ANY AND ALL ACTIONS
NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE NAMING OF THE PARK; CONTAINING A
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR AN IMMEDIATE EFFECTIVE DATE.

PARCEL OF LAND CONSISTING OF APPROXIMATELY 16,222 SQUARE FEET
LOCATED AT 1320 SOUTHWEST 12 AVENUE, 1330 SOUTHWEST 12 AVENUE,
AND 1211 SOUTHWEST 14 STREET, MIAMI, FLORIDA AND OTHER CONTIGUOUS
PARCELS THAT MAY BE ADDED IN THE FUTURE AS "CHILDREN'S PARK";

WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") owns land consisting of approximately 16,222
square feet located at 1320 Southwest 12 Avenue, 1330 Southwest 12 Avenue, and 1211
Southwest 14 Street, Miami, Florida, Folio Nos. 01-4138-008-0140, 01-4138-008-0160, and 01-
4138-008-0150 ("Property"); and
WHEREAS, the Property been recently redeveloped into a public park to address
residents' recreational needs; and
WHEREAS, the expanded park now offers amenities focused on activities for children;
and
WHEREAS, the development of the Property reflects the City's dedication to creating
accessible, well -maintained recreational spaces, enhancing the community's quality of life, and
fulfilling expressed neighborhood desires for additional recreational opportunities; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission has determined that it is fitting and appropriate to
formally name the Property as "Children's Park";
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Ordinance are
hereby adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. Chapter 38/Article I of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended, is
further amended in the following particulars:1
"CHAPTER 38
1 Words and/or figures stricken through shall be deleted. Underscored words and/or figures shall be
added. The remaining provisions are now in effect and remain unchanged. Asterisks indicate omitted and
unchanged material.

PARKS AND RECREATION
ARTICLE I. IN GENERAL
Sec. 38-35. Naming of Children's Park.
The parcels of land consisting of approximately 16,222 square feet located at 1320
Southwest 12 Avenue, 1330 Southwest 12 Avenue, and 1211 Southwest 14 Street, and
other contiguous parcels that may be added in the future shall be named "Children's Park."

Section 3. The City Manager is directed to take any and all administrative actions
necessary to effectuate the renaming of the said facility.
Section 4. If any section, part of a section, paragraph, clause, phrase or word of this
Ordinance is declared invalid, the remaining provisions of this Ordinance shall not be affected.
Section 5. This Ordinance shall become effective immediately after adoption and
signature of the Mayor.2
APPROVED AS TO FORM AND CORRECTNESS:
2 This Ordinance shall become effective as specified herein unless vetoed by the Mayor within ten (10)
calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Ordinance, it shall
become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission or upon the effective
date stated herein. whichever is later.
