A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, CODESIGNATING
NORTHEAST 2ND COURT BETWEEN NORTHEAST 67TH STREET AND
NORTHEAST 65TH STREET AS "RUDMAN WAY"; ACKNOWLEDGING THE
CONTRIBUTIONS OF RAUL RUDMAN TO THE LITTLE HAITI COMMERCIAL
DISTRICT AND THE CITY OF MIAMI; FURTHER DIRECTING THE CITY
CLERK TO TRANSMIT A COPY OF THIS RESOLUTION TO THE HEREIN
DESIGNATED OFFICIALS.
SPONSOR(S): Commissioner Christine King
WHEREAS, Sportailor, Inc., located at 6501 Northeast 2nd Court, has been conducting
business in the City of Miami's ("City") Little Haiti Commercial District for over 61 years; and
WHEREAS, the Rudman family, through four generations, has significantly contributed
to the local economy and community by employing countless local residents, with an average
employee tenure of 26 years, and several employees having served for over 45 years; and
WHEREAS, the Rudman family's history is marked by resilience and perseverance,
having escaped Nazi Poland in the late 1930s, fled Fidel Castro's communist regime in Cuba,
and ultimately settled in Miami, FL in 1961; and
WHEREAS, Raul Rudman, the family patriarch, established Sportailor, Inc. in 1963,
growing the business from door-to-door stitching services to a thriving enterprise with the help of
his son, Frank Rudman, who balanced education and business responsibilities to propel the
company forward; and
WHEREAS, Sportailor, Inc. has grown to include national brands such as Weekender
Sportswear and Hook & Tackle, contributing to the economic vitality of the City; and
WHEREAS, the Rudman family has continuously reinvested in their business and the
community, acquiring properties and supporting local development; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the City recognize Raul Rudman's contributions
by co -designating Northeast 2nd Court between and Northeast 67th Street and Northeast 65th
Street as "Rudman Way";
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The City Commission hereby codesignates Northeast 2nd Court between
Northeast 67th Street and Northeast 65th Street, Miami, Florida, as "Rudman Way."

Section 3. The City Clerk is directed to transmit a certified copy of this Resolution to the
Departments of Police, Fire -Rescue, and Solid Waste; the Miami -Dade County Department of
Transportation and Public Works; the Miami -Dade County Commissioner of District 3; the
United States Postal Service; and, if a State of Florida road, to the Florida Department of
Transportation, District Six, for sign installation within the newly designated roadway.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
