A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF FUNDS FROM THE DOWNTOWN
DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY OF MIAMI ("MIAMI DDA") IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED FOUR HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS ($400,000.00) ("FUNDS") TO
UNDERWRITE COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE PURCHASE, INSTALLATION,
MAINTENANCE, AND ALL RELATED COSTS OF CLOSED-CIRCUIT TELEVISION
("CCTV") SECURITY CAMERAS WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES OF THE MIAMI DDA, AT
LOCATIONS GENERALLY DESCRIBED IN EXHIBIT "A," ATTACHED AND
INCORPORATED; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND
EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT, INCLUDING AMENDMENTS, EXTENSIONS, AND ANY
OTHER NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, ALL IN FORMS ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY
ATTORNEY, FOR SAID PURPOSE.

A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF FUNDS FROM THE DOWNTOWN
DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY OF MIAMI ("MIAMI DDA") IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED FOUR HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS ($400,000.00) ("FUNDS") TO
UNDERWRITE COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE PURCHASE, INSTALLATION,
MAINTENANCE, AND ALL RELATED COSTS OF CLOSED-CIRCUIT TELEVISION
("CCTV") SECURITY CAMERAS WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES OF THE MIAMI DDA, AT
LOCATIONS GENERALLY DESCRIBED IN EXHIBIT "A," ATTACHED AND
INCORPORATED; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND
EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT, INCLUDING AMENDMENTS, EXTENSIONS, AND ANY
OTHER NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, ALL IN FORMS ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY
ATTORNEY, FOR SAID PURPOSE.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") is responsible for public safety throughout the City
which includes the areas of the Downtown Development Authority of Miami ("Miami DDA"); and
WHEREAS, the Miami DDA's 2025 Downtown Miami Master Plan Goals include
enhancing community services by creating great streets and community spaces, such as
providing enhanced security and police presence; and
WHEREAS, on May 17, 2024, the Board of Directors of the Miami DDA adopted
Resolution No. 011/2024 authorizing the purchase, installation, maintenance, and all related
costs of Closed-circuit television ("CCTV") security cameras for enhanced police services within
the boundaries of the Miami DDA for an amount not to exceed four hundred thousand dollars
($400,000.00) ("Funds"); and
WHEREAS, the City, by and through the Miami Police Department, will utilize the subject
funds to augment police services through the use of CCTV security cameras to address issues
relating to quality of life within the boundaries of the Miami DDA; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Miami DDA Resolution No. 011/2024, the Miami DDA
authorized the Funds to be disbursed to the City upon presentation of invoices and satisfactory
documentation with no match of funds required by the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission believes that it is in the best interest of the public for
the City Manager to accept the Funds to add additional CCTV security cameras within the
boundaries of the City and Miami DDA, at locations generally described in Exhibit "A," attached
and incorporated;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
true and correct and are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this
Section.
Section 2. The acceptance of funds from the Miami DDA to the City for the purchase,
installation, maintenance, and all related costs of CCTV security cameras within the boundaries
of the Miami DDA, at locations generally described in Exhibit "A," attached and incorporated, is
authorized.'
Section 3. The City Manager is authorized' to negotiate and execute an agreement,
amendments, extensions and any other necessary documents, all in forms acceptable to the
City Attorney, for said purpose.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and
signature of the Mayor.2

1 The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all legal requirements that may be
imposed, including but not limited to, those prescribed by applicable City Charter and City Code
provisions.
2 If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
