A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT
("CDBG") UNALLOCATED FUNDS IN THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CATEGORY
FROM VARIOUS FISCAL YEARS ("FY") IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,404,200.00 TO THE
DEPARTMENT OF RESILIENCE AND PUBLIC WORKS FOR STREET, DRAINAGE,
AND OTHER IMPROVEMENTS IN DISTRICT 1, AS DESCRIBED IN EXHIBIT "A,"
ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE ANY AND ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS,
INCLUDING AMENDMENTS, EXTENSIONS, AND MODIFICATIONS, ALL IN A FORM
ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, SUBJECT TO ALL FEDERAL, STATE AND
LOCAL LAWS THAT REGULATE THE USE OF SUCH FUNDS, FOR SAID PURPOSE.
Background of Item:
Pursuant to the Resolution No. 20-0222, Resolution No. 21-0256, Resolution No. 22-
0245, and Resolution No. 23-0293, adopted on 7-23-2020, 6-24-2021, 7-19-2022 and 7-
13-2023, respectively, the City Commission approved the allocation of Community
Development Block Grant ("CDBG") in the economic development category funds for
Fiscal Years ("FY") 2019-20, 2021-22, 2022-23 and 2023-24 to Department of Housing
and Community Development ("Department") in the total amount of $2,404,200.00 to be
allocated at a later date for District 1 CBDG eligible activities. There is a need to
allocate these funds to the Department of Resilience and Public Works to be utilized for
street, drainage and other improvements in District 1.The City's Administration
recommends the transfer of CDBG unallocated funds in the economic development
category from various Fiscal Years in the amount of $2,404,200.00 to the Department of
Resilience and Public Works for street, drainage, and other improvement in District 1,
as described in Exhibit "A," attached and incorporated.

DEVELOPMENT CATEGORY IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,404,200.00 TO THE
DEPARTMENT OF RESILIENCE AND PUBLIC WORKS FOR STREET, DRAINAGE,
AND OTHER IMPROVEMENTS IN DISTRICT 1, AS DESCRIBED IN EXHIBIT "A,"
ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER

WHEREAS, pursuant to the Resolution No. R-20-0212, Resolution No. R-21-0256,
Resolution No. R-22-0245, and Resolution No. R-23-0293, adopted on 7-23-2020, 6-24-2021,
7-19-2022 and 7-13-2023, respectively, the City Commission approved the allocation of
Community Development Block Grant ("CDBG") funds in the economic development category
for fiscal years 2019-2020, 2021-2022, 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 to the Department of Housing
and Community Development in the total amount of $2,404,200.00 to be allocated at a later
date for CBDG eligible activities in District 1; and
WHEREAS, there is a need to allocate these funds to the Department of Resilience and
Public Works to be utilized for street, drainage and other improvements in District 1; and
WHEREAS, the City's Administration recommends the transfer of CDBG unallocated
funds from previous fiscal years' economic development category in the amount of
$2,404,200.00 to the Department of Resilience and Public Works for street, drainage, and other
improvement in District 1, as described in Exhibit "A', attached, and incorporated.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The transfer of CDBG unallocated funds from previous fiscal years' economic
development category, in the amount of $2,404,200.00 to the Department of Resilience and
Public Works for street, drainage, and other improvements in District 1, as described in Exhibit
"A," attached and incorporated, is authorized.'
Section 3. The City Manager is further authorized' to negotiate and execute any and all

Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and
signature of the mayor.2

calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it
