RE: Nomination for Membership on the Civilian Investigative Panel
Dear Commissioner Diaz de la Portilla:
CRISTINA BEAMUD
Executive Director
Congratulations on your recent election. The Civilian Investigative Panel met on November 19, 2019 to
nominate a candidate for membership. As you know, Article II, Section 11.5-28 of the City Code requires
the CIP Nominating Committee to screen applications, interview potential candidates and submit such
candidates to the City Commission to fill vacancies. The ordinance requires that the City Commission
appoint, by majority vote, "exclusively from the nominations submitted to it by the Civilian Investigative
Panel."
Recently, Mr. Douglas Mayer, our previous District 1 representative, resigned because he moved out of
the city. Thus, the Panel recruited the application of Mr. Gabriel Paez. I enclose his resume for your
consideration. Please let me know if you would like to meet with this candidate or if you have any
further questions. I hope that you will support his appointment to this Panel.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
Thank you for your assistance with this matter.
Sincerely,
V.,6‘44'
