The Code Enforcement Board was created to issue orders having the force of law commanding
whatever steps are necessary to bring a Code violation into compliance.
Florida Statutes Section 162.05(2) requires members of the Code Enforcement Board to be residents
of the City of Miami. City Code Section 2-812 states that whenever possible, the board is to
consist of an architect, a businessperson, an engineer, a general contractor, a subcontractor,
and a realtor.
One (1) appointment is required at this time:
• Commissioner Sabina Covo has one (1) nomination for a seat currently:1
1. Vacant. (Andres Althabe resigned effective January 14, 2022)
For your convenience, we are including a copy of the current membership of said board. By copy of
this memorandum, we are requesting that the Agenda Office place this issue on the October 12, 2023,
Commission Agenda.
