APPEAL Letter 12/13/22
- PWO 22-247 Property Address 1750 Bayshore Lane (note this is not where trees are
located)
- On December 8 at about 9am, Public Works cut down 5 healty Royal Palms on the
Bayshore Lane median. These trees would cost over $15,000 each to replace and
replant. A notice of tree permit was posted about Dec 5 at 1729 Bayshore Lane, which is
not where the trees are located (they have no palm trees).
The neighbors oppose the removal, and where shocked when the truck showed up and
no one told any neighbors why.
The permit says the trees are a safety risk. This is untrue. They are healthy and do not
cause people or cars a risk, as they were in medium
The permit says the trees will be replaced with hardwoods — but it gives no date and
implies it will happen some time in the future when City is planting trees.
Removal of canopy devalues all the properties in the neighborhood. In fact, some of the
neighbors starting replanting dead bushes to beautify the ugly bushes the city planted
last year (which lose leaves in Spring, look dead — need trimming and need water which
is not present)
The City recently replaced a tree that died, so why are they removing healthy trees.

Zero Invoice PWO 22-247 Property Adress 1750 Bayshore Lane (note this is not where trees
removed from- they were removed from public median on Bayshore Lane)
No fee due, for appeal of tree permit given to City and City removed 5 healthy trees before
appeal period expired. I emailed Appeal Hearing Board, and she said to create document that
says no fee due as your system dies not allow creation of $0 fee.
