HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-23-0404City of Miami Resolution R-23-0404 Legislation City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 14466 Final Action Date: 9/14/2023 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE AMENDED BUDGET OF THE LIBERTY CITY COMMUNITY REVITALIZATION TRUST, ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED AS EXHIBIT "E," IN THE AMOUNT OF ONE MILLION, NINETY THOUSAND, SEVEN HUNDRED SEVEN AND 00/100 DOLLARS ($1,090,707.00) FOR THE FISCAL YEAR COMMENCING OCTOBER 1, 2022, AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 2023. WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") created and established the Liberty City Community Revitalization Trust ("Trust") pursuant to Ordinance No. 12859, adopted October 12, 2006; and WHEREAS, the Trust is responsible for the oversight and facilitation of the City's revitalization and redevelopment activities in the Liberty City area; and WHEREAS, Section 12.5-36 of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended ("City Code"), provides that the Trust shall submit a budget to the City Commission for approval, in a form acceptable to the City Manager; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 22-0318, adopted September 10, 2022, the City Commission approved the Trust's original annual budget for the fiscal year commencing October 1, 2022 through September 30, 2023 in the amount of $630,707.00 ("Original Annual Budget," attached and incorporated as Exhibit "A"; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 23-0232, adopted by the City Commission on May 11, 2023, attached and incorporated as Exhibit "B," the Trust received unanticipated revenues from the District 5 share of the Miami for Everyone ("MFE") Program, in the total amount of Two Hundred Fifty Thousand and 00/100 Dollars ($250,000.00), and grant funds from the Mayor's Discretionary Account in the amount of Fifty Thousand and 00/100 Dollars ($50,000.00), grant funds from the Venture Miami Account in the amount of Fifty Thousand and 00/100 Dollars ($50,000.00), and funds in the amount of Fifty Thousand and 00/100 Dollars ($50,000.00) from the Non Departmental Account to fund its summer youth employment program, necessitating the amendment of the Trust's original annual budget; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. CRA-R-23-0022, adopted by the Southeast Overtown/Park West Community Redevelopment Agency ("SEOPW CRA") on May 25, 2023, attached and incorporated as Exhibit "C," the Trust received unanticipated revenue from SEOPW CRA in the total amount of Sixty Thousand and 00/100 Dollars ($60,000.00), to fund its Summer Youth Program, necessitating the amendment of the Trust's original annual budget; and WHEREAS, the governing body of the Trust reviewed and approved the Trust's amended budget for Fiscal Year 2022-2023 on July 8, 2023 pursuant to Trust Resolution No. City of Miami Page 1 of 2 File ID: 14466 (Revision:) Printed On: 7/11/2025 File ID: 14466 Enactment Number: R-23-0404 23-006, attached and incorporated as Exhibit "D"; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The Trust's Fiscal Year 2022-2023 Amended Budget, in the amount of One Million, Ninety Thousand, Seven Hundred Seven and 00/100 Dollars ($1,090,707.00), attached and incorporated as Exhibit "E," for the Fiscal Year commencing October 1, 2022, and ending September 30, 2023, is approved and adopted. Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.'
