Enclosed you will find an ad for notice of a public hearing to be held by the City Commission on September
14, 2023, for use of City of Miami owned property located at 970 SW 1 Street, Folio No. 01-4138-003-1200,
amending an existing Revocable License Agreement, and negotiating and executing an abatement with La
Unidad Cubana, Inc.
Please place the ad in accordance with public hearing requirements of the City Commission and in accordance
with section 166.041(3)(c)(2), Florida Statues.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
A public hearing will be held by the City Commission of the City of Miami, Florida on
Thursday, September 14, 2023, at 9:00 A.M. at City Hall, located at 3500 Pan
American Drive, Miami, Florida, 33133 for the purpose of granting the following:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI COMMISSION BY A FOUR -FIFTHS
(4/5THS) AFFIRMATIVE VOTE PURSUANT TO SECTION 18-176 OF THE CODE OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED ("CITY CODE") AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT TO THE
REVOCABLE LICENSE AGREEMENT DATED JUNE 13, 2005, BETWEEN THE CITY
OF MIAMI ("CITY") AND LA UNIDAD CUBANA, INC., A FLORIDA NOT -FOR -PROFIT
CORPORATION FOR THE USE OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT 970 SW 1ST
STREET, ROOM 302, MIAMI, FLORIDA TO REMOVE USE OF ROOM 300, CREDIT
ALL RENT DUE BETWEEN SEPTEMBER 2014 — AUGUST 2023 TO THE
EFFECTIVE DATE, AND ABATE THE MONTHLY RENT TO AN AMOUNT AGREED
UPON BY THE CITY AND LA UNIDAD CUBANA, INC. ON THE EFFECTIVE DATE
FOR THE FIRST YEAR, WITH FUTURE YEARS SUBJECT TO A THREE PERCENT
(3%) INCREASE EACH YEAR; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE ANY OTHER DOCUMENTS, INCLUDING NON -
SUBSTANTIVE AMENDMENTS, EXTENSIONS, OR RENEWALS, SUBJECT TO ALL
ALLOCATIONS, APPROPRIATIONS, AND PRIOR BUDGETARY APPROVALS AND
IN COMPLIANCE WITH ALL APPLICABLE SECTIONS OF THE CITY CODE AND
ALL OTHER LAWS, RULES, AND REGULATIONS, THAT MAY BE DEEMED
NECESSARY FOR SAID PURPOSE.
The Miami City Commission requests all interested parties be present or represented
at the meeting and may be heard with respect to any proposition before the City
Commission in which the City Commission may take action. Should any person desire
to appeal any decision of the City Commission with respect to any matter to be
considered at this meeting, that person shall ensure that a verbatim record of the
proceedings is made including all testimony and evidence upon which any appeal may
be based (F.S. 286.0105).
Pursuant to Miami City Code Section 2-33(o), whenever a scheduled City Commission
meeting is cancelled or is not held due to a lack of a quorum or other emergency, a
special City Commission meeting will be automatically scheduled for the Tuesday
immediately following the cancelled meeting. In the event of one of the
aforementioned circumstances, the special meeting would be held on September 19,
2023, at 9:00 a.m. in the City Commission chambers located at Miami City Hall, 3500
Pan American Drive, Miami, FL 33133. All of the scheduled agenda items from that
cancelled meeting shall automatically be scheduled as an agenda item at the special
City Commission meeting.
The City Clerk shall notify the public of the special meeting that is to take place by
placing a notice of the special City Commission meeting at the entrance of City Hall
and the City's main administrative building, placing a notice on the City's website, and,
if feasible, placing an ad in a newspaper of general circulation before the special
meeting on the immediately following Tuesday. There shall be no additional notice by
publication required for any such scheduled agenda item that is moved to the special
City Commission meeting.
In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, persons needing
special accommodations to participate in this proceeding may contact the Office of
the City Clerk at (305) 250-5361 (Voice) no later than five (5) business days prior to
the proceeding. TTY users may call via 711 (Florida Relay Service) no later than five
(5) business days prior to the proceeding.
