WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") has been experiencing extreme heat, including regular heat advisories; and WHEREAS, the City Commission finds it necessary and in the best interest of the health, safety, and welfare of its residents for the City to explore options and solutions to assist its residents during the extreme heat and to help address such; and WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 2-33(f) of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended, the City Commission, by a majority vote, hereby deems this Resolution to be of an emergency nature; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The City Manager is hereby directed to explore options and solutions for the City of Miami, including but not limited to City Parks, to address the extreme heat in the City. Section 2.
