Resolution authorizing the City Attorney to proceed with legal action, if
necessary, against residential tenant Mauricio Munoz of the Olympia
Building located at 174 East Flagler Street, Miami, Florida, to obtain
possession of the property and seek any other legal remedies in
compliance with the lease agreements.

The attached proposed Resolution authorizes the City Attorney to proceed with
legal action, if necessary, against residential tenant Mauricio Munoz of the Olympia
Building located at 174 East Flagler Street, Miami, Florida, inclusive of the building
entrance located at 8 Southeast 2nd Avenue, Miami, Florida, to obtain possession of the
property and seek any other legal remedies in compliance with the lease agreements.

A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE CITY
ATTORNEY TO PROCEED WITH LEGAL ACTION, IF NECESSARY, AGAINST
RESIDENTIAL TENANT MAURICIO MUNOZ OF THE OLYMPIA BUILDING LOCATED
AT 174 EAST FLAGLER STREET, MIAMI, FLORIDA, INCLUSIVE OF THE BUILDING
ENTRANCE LOCATED AT 8 SOUTHEAST 2ND AVENUE, MIAMI, FLORIDA, TO
OBTAIN POSSESSION OF THE PROPERTY, AND SEEK ANY OTHER LEGAL
REMEDIES IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE LEASE AGREEMENTS.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") owns the Olympia Building located at 174 East
Flagler Street, in Miami, Florida, inclusive of the building entrance located at 8 Southeast 2nd
Avenue, Miami, Florida ("Property"), which includes residential rental units ("Apartments"); and
WHEREAS, on behalf of the City, Olympia Center, Inc. entered into lease agreements
("Leases"), with Mauricio Munoz regarding Apartment 410; and
WHEREAS, on July 18th, 2022, the City delivered notices to Mauricio Munoz, along with
tenants Donald Antonio Chavarria, Monique Johnson, Violeta Ramirez, and Leonardo Ferrari,
stating their tenancy shall terminate as of September 30, 2022; and
WHEREAS, as of November 29th, 2022, all tenants have failed to vacate the
Apartments; and
WHEREAS, some of the above -mentioned tenants also owe the City past due rent and
late fees; and
WHEREAS, the City previously authorized the City Attorney to proceed with legal action,
if necessary, against tenants Donald Antonio Chavarria, Monique Johnson, Violeta Ramirez and
Leonardo Ferrari on January 26, 2023 pursuant to Resolution R-23-0063; and
WHEREAS, the City now wishes to proceed with legal action, if necessary, against
Mauricio Munoz, Apt. 410, an additional tenant at the same property in a different apartment, to
collect monies owed, obtain possession of the Property, and/or enforce compliance with the
Leases;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The City Attorney is authorized' to proceed with legal action, if necessary,
against Mauricio Munoz, Apt. 410, to obtain possession of the Property and to seek any other
legal remedies in compliance with the Leases.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
