WHEREAS, the State of Florida's Division of Emergency Management ("Division") serves as a pass -through entity for the United States Department of Homeland Security's ("DHS") Federal Emergency Management Agency ("FEMA") for the issuance of a federally funded sub -award and grant award ("Grant") for expenses attributable to Hurricane Nicole ("Purpose"); and WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") is requesting reimbursable expenses in the amount of Sixty Four Thousand Nine Hundred Fifty Three Dollars and Eight Cents ($64,953.08) for the Purpose stated herein; and WHEREAS, funds from the Grant shall be used to establish a new Special Revenue Project for the stated Purpose and placed in Account Nos. 80002.181000.431000.0000.00000 (Federal Funds) and 80002.181000.434000.0000.00000 (State Funds) under Project No. 18- 800068; and WHEREAS, it is appropriate for the City Commission to authorize the City Manager to accept the Grant, establish a Special Revenue Project, and to negotiate and execute a grant agreement, including any and all necessary documents, amendments, renewals, and extensions, all in forms acceptable to the City Attorney, for the acceptance and administration of the funds and compliance with the terms and conditions thereof; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized' to accept the Grant for the Purpose stated herein. Section 3. The following new Special Revenue Project is established and resources are allocated and appropriated as described below: FUND TITLE: Nicole CAT-B Protective Measures RESOURCES: DHS FEMA through the Division $64,953.08 APPROPRIATIONS: $64,953.08 Section 4. The City Manager is further authorized to negotiate and execute a grant agreement, including any and all necessary documents, amendments, renewals, and extensions, all in forms acceptable to the City Attorney, for the acceptance and administration of the Grant and compliance with the terms and conditions thereof. Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.2 APPROVED AS TO FORM AND CORRECTNESS: ndez, ity Attor ey 7/3/2023 1 The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all legal requirements that may be imposed, including but not limited to, those prescribed by applicable City Charter and City Code provisions. 2 If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
