City Clerk What led us here? ► Living in Ailapattah, we have been impacted by the garbage on the streets (directly & indirectly). ► Community members don't necessarily know how to report illegal dumping, potholes, broken lights or preventive measures to keep blight at bay. ► Residents & business owners feel it has always been like this and nothing will change. Our goal is for this to be the first of many #FabulosoAllapattah events in our neighborhood. City Clerk Phase 1: Create Public Awareness Project Stories Use the #FabulosoAllapattah #UnityFcrOurCommunity hashtags to encourage neighborhood participation Share how community members can report illegal dumping or issues like potholes/ broken lights Create tips on how residents & businesses can help clean up the neighborhood Data Highlights Fight disinformation and apathy regarding Allapattah, to change its perception Emphasize the importance of community involvement in reducing illegal dumping and littering. Share information how Community Members can actively participate in making Allapattah Submitted into the p Submitted into the public record fa_ ` em(s) City Clerk Phase 2 - Civic Action Public Comment After our May 26th presentation, we submitted our Community Engagement Proposal to The City of Miami Commission and their staff. Today we're asking the commissioners to support our project, and share via their (and the city's) social media accounts. in addition, we'll ask our District Commissioners to participate in our #FabulosoAllapattah event on June 25. 13 Submitted into the pu recorr1 for }tem(s) on Phase 3 - Collaboration with more of the City of Miami's Departments In addition to the Commission, for this project we would love to work with staff members in the city's Solid Waste, Code Compliance and Police Departments. Previous cohorts have had wonderful partnerships with the Miami Police Department (#SaferTogetherAllapattah). We would love to expand that collaboration to the city's Solid Waste and Code Compliance departments. We would love to have staff from each department to attend our #FabulosoAllapattah event, so community members can connect with them directly. We would also like for the departments to help share the #FabulosoAllapattah Social Media through their accounts. City Clerk #FabulosoAllapattah Roadmap Submit the project proposal to Commissioners office and seek public support for it. Present the project to a group of community partners and interested parties on May 26, 2022 to help and advise on this project. Complete the planning and logistics for the event (including EventBrite invitation), and secure any necessary permits Visit City Hall and present the community engagement proposal to the Commission on. June 9. 2022. Create a digital poll to survey the community and see what people think about our strategy to maintain the A_lapattah community clean.
