A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ACCEPT SPONSORSHIPS FROM VARIOUS CORPORATIONS
AND/OR ORGANIZATIONS FOR THE COSTS OF PROVIDING THE CITY OF
MIAMI ("CITY") PATHWAYS TO PUBLIC PROCUREMENT SUMMIT (THE
"SUMMIT"), A TWO-DAY INTENSIVE SUMMIT FOR AN ANTICIPATED 200 TO
400 LOCAL, SMALL, AND MINORITY BUSINESSES, SCHEDULED TO TAKE
PLACE OCTOBER 19 AND 20, 2023, AT JUNGLE ISLAND, CONSISTING OF
EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPS, KEYNOTE LUNCHEONS, MATCHMAKING
SESSIONS WITH GOVERNMENT AGENCIES AND LARGE PRIME
CONTRACTORS, AN EXPO FOR RESOURCE PARTNERS, AND THE CITY'S
PROCUREMENT OUTREACH PROGRAM POP-UP SHOP FOR ALL SAID
LOCAL, SMALL, AND MINORITY BUSINESSES; FURTHER AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE ANY AND ALL
DOCUMENTS, INCLUDING ANY AMENDMENTS AND MODIFICATIONS,
SUBJECT TO ALL ALLOCATIONS, APPROPRIATIONS, PRIOR BUDGETARY
APPROVALS, COMPLIANCE WITH ALL APPLICABLE PROVISIONS OF THE
CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED ("CITY CODE"),
INCLUDING THE CITY'S PROCUREMENT ORDINANCE, ANTI -DEFICIENCY
ACT, AND FINANCIAL INTEGRITY PRINCIPLES, ALL AS SET FORTH IN
CHAPTER 18 OF THE CITY CODE, IN FORMS ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY
ATTORNEY, AND IN COMPLIANCE WITH ALL APPLICABLE LAWS, RULES,
AND REGULATIONS, AS MAY BE DEEMED NECESSARY FOR SAID
PURPOSE.

WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") Procurement Department ("Procurement") will be
hosting its First Annual City Pathways to Public Procurement Summit (the "Summit"); and
WHEREAS, the Summit was developed to provide valuable exposure among local,
small, and minority businesses, government agencies, and large corporations, creating a one on
one experience focusing on: a) how to do business with the City and other government
agencies; b) resources available to local, small, and minority businesses; c) contracting
opportunities; d) a matchmaking portion providing business owners the opportunity to attend
meetings with government agencies and large prime contractors to help build relationships
towards success; e) an expo portion offered to key resource partners; and, f) the City
Procurement Outreach Program Pop -Up Shop portion where said local, small, and minority
business owners can speak with local organizations, government agencies, and industry
partners; and
WHEREAS, in order to address the summit's related costs, ensure a successful event,
and provide for a memorable experience for all participating attendees, the industry, and

government partners, Procurement has set differing levels of sponsorships consisting of the
following: Diamond ($25,000.00), Platinum ($15,000.00), Gold ($10,000.00), Silver ($5,000.00),
and Bronze ($2,500.00); and
WHEREAS, upon the conclusion of the Summit, Procurement will provide the
Commission a report including a list of all such donations made towards the Summit through
sponsorships and the names of the donors as well;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble of this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The City Manager is authorized' to accept sponsorships from various
corporations and/or organizations for the costs of providing the Summit, a two-day intensive
summit for an anticipated 200 to 400 local, small, and minority businesses, scheduled to take
place October 19 and 20, 2023, at Jungle Island, consisting of educational workshops, keynote
luncheons, matchmaking sessions with government agencies and large prime contractors, an
expo for resource partners, and the City's Procurement Outreach Program Pop -Up Shop for all
said local, small, and minority businesses.
Section 3. The City Manager is further authorized' to negotiate and execute any and all
documents, including any amendments and modifications, subject to all allocations,
appropriations, prior budgetary approvals, compliance with all applicable provisions of the Code
of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended ("City Code"), including the City's Procurement
Ordinance, Anti -Deficiency Act, and Financial Integrity Principles, all as set forth in Chapter 18
of the City Code, in forms acceptable to the City Attorney, and in compliance with all applicable
laws, rules, and regulations, as may be deemed necessary for said purpose.
Section 4. This Resolution2 shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.

1 The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all legal regulations that may be imposed,
including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and City Code provisions.
2 If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
