Art -in -Public Places "AIPP" Board

ENCLOSURES: AIPP Board Applications
0n October 31st and November 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, the City Clerk published in various newspapers, a Notice
of Vacancies requesting volunteers to serve on the Art in Public Places Board.
The Art in Public Places Board (AIPPB) is composed of nine (9) voting members and two (2) alternate
members appointed by the Mayor and City Commission. It is intended that members and alternate
members of the AIPPB be persons of knowledge, experience, mature judgment, and background;
having ability and desire to act in the public interest; and representing the various special professional
training, experience, and interests required to make informed and equitable decisions concerning the
artistic development of the city.
There are currently four (4) vacancies on the AIPP Board. The Planning Department has reviewed all
three (3) applications submitted by the Friday, December 2, 2022, deadline in accordance with Section
62-655 of the Miami City Code. Of the three applications received, staff finds that all meet the minimum
qualifications per code, in addition one of the three applications is from an existing, AIPP board
members. As such, staff recommends the following:
• Re -appoint the existing board members of the Art in Public Places Board.
• Appoint 0dalys De Yurre to the Vacant at Large Seat
• Appoint Jill Tolan to District 2 Vacant Seat.
