WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City"), in furtherance of its continuing commitment to assist homeless persons within the jurisdictional boundaries of the City, wishes to procure and make available shelter beds and services as described herein to homeless persons in the City's homeless population; and WHEREAS, the Camillus House, Inc., a Florida not for profit corporation ("Camillus House"), has the capacity to accommodate one hundred (100) beds in the Camillus House Norwegian Cruise Line Campus Emergency Shelter exclusively for the City for the nightly use of homeless individuals, along with other associated services and accompanying homeless services and case management for a period of one (1) year subject to said beds being exclusively designated for the City's homeless individuals (collectively, the "Shelter Program"); and WHEREAS, the City and Camillus House have negotiated a Shelter Program Agreement ("Agreement") for the provision of fifty-one (51) Shelter Program beds at an annual total cost not to exceed an amount of five hundred and sixty thousand Dollars ($560,000.00), for the City's Fiscal Year 2022-2023, with such payments to be funded from the Department of Human Services' Budget; and WHEREAS, as a condition for funding for the Shelter Program, the City Commission requires monthly reporting from Camillus House to City Administration regarding the Shelter Program's results and monthly invoicing for payments in arrears based upon monthly reporting as well as the conditions stated herein and in the Agreement; and WHEREAS, funds for the procurement of the remainder of the available Shelter Program beds have been raised from other sources and may be available to Camillus House to fund additional Shelter Program beds for the benefit of the City; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The City Manager is authorized' to execute the Shelter Program agreement, in substantially the attached form, between the City and Camillus House, to continue the City's Shelter Program, including the provision of fifty one (51) beds within the Camillus House Norwegian Cruise Line Campus for emergency shelter for the nightly use of homeless individuals along with other associated and accompanying homeless services and case management at an annual cost not to exceed five hundred and sixty Thousand Dollars ($560,000.00) during the City's fiscal year 2022-2023. Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
