A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO APPROPRIATE AND PAY FROM GENERAL LEDGER
ACCOUNT CODE 15500-980000-882000 THE CITY OF MIAMI'S ("CITY")
CONTRIBUTION FOR FISCAL YEAR 2022-2023 TO THE MARLINS TEAMCO
LLC ("OPERATOR"), IN THE AMOUNT OF FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND AND
00/100 DOLLARS ($500,000.00) ("CITY CONTRIBUTION") FOR POLICE
STAFFING FOR THE 2023 WORLD BASEBALL CLASSIC; FURTHER
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE ANY AND ALL
NECESSARY DOCUMENTS WITH THE OPERATOR TO REFLECT THE CITY
CONTRIBUTION THERETO AND THE USE OF THE CITY CONTRIBUTION,

WHEREAS, the World Baseball Classic is an international baseball tourname ha iasT-riV
held from March 7, 2023 through March 21, 2023 in four (4) different cities ("2023 World t C�
Baseball Classic"); and
WHEREAS, three (3) rounds of the 2023 World Baseball Classic, including tom` c3
Semifinals and Final Championship Game, were played in LoanDepot Park located ai 01
Marlins Way, Miami, Florida 33125 ("LoanDepot Park"); and r
WHEREAS, pursuant to an Operating Agreement by and among Miami -Dade County,
the City of Miami ("City"), and Marlin's Stadium Operator, currently the Marlins Teamco LLC
("Operator") dated April 15, 2009 ("Operating Agreement"), the Operator has the exclusive right,
authority, responsibility and obligation to operate, manage, coordinate, control, use and
supervise the conduct and operation of the business and affairs pertaining to or necessary for
he proper, operation, maintenance, and management of the Stadium Premises, now known as
LoanDepot Park; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Operating Agreement, Stadium Events having an expected
attendance of more than five thousand (5,000) people are required to have Police staffing levels
to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of event participants, event patrons, and nearby
residences and businesses; and
WHEREAS, the City's current Operating Budget includes Five Hundred Thousand and
00/100 Dollars ($500,000.00) ("City Contribution") as a contribution for Fiscal Year 2022-2023
from the City to the Operator for Police staffing for the 2023 World Baseball Classic; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City to authorize the City Manager to
appropriate and pay the City Contribution to the Operator for Police staffing at the 2023 World
Baseball Classic; and
WHEREAS, it is also in the best interests of the City to authorize the City Manager to
negotiate and execute any and all necessary documents with the Operator to reflect the City

Contribution, the uses of the City Contribution, subject to approval by the City Attorney as to
legal form and correctness;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The City Manager is authorized' to appropriate and pay the City's
Contribution from General Ledger Account Code 15500-980000-882000 to the Operator for
Police staffing at the 2023 World Baseball Classic.
Section 3. The City Manager is authorized' to negotiate and execute any and all
necessary documents with the Operator to reflect the City Contribution thereto and the uses of
said City Contribution, all in a form acceptable to the City Attorney.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
