To Whom it May Concern:
I am pleased to submit my interest to serve on the DDA Board, and am also providing the attached
biographical info for your consideration!
I have been an active proponent of the DDA's efforts and have been participating in the growth and
renaissance of the Miami/Brickell CBD as an office leasing agent for many years! I've had the
pleasure of working with the Tilia Companies for nearly 20 years and am responsible for all leasing
efforts at the historic Alfred I. Dupont building. Additionally, as the Agency Lead for South Florida at
JLL, our collective teams also represent the office towers at Brickell City Center (Northwood),
Museum Tower (Bridge Investments) and 1221 Brickell (Rockpoint Group). JLL also represented
Blackstone in a tenant advisory position in their recent lease at MiamiCentral. We are extremely
active in these markets!
Aside from my professional involvement above, I am personally engaged and passionate about
downtown's evolution and new and vibrant role it's taking in the success of South Florida — a place
to work, live and play on par to major metropolitan cities across the country! Having spent many
years in City government, I maintain an interest in the critical private/public partnership that is
"place making" and I look forward to the opportunity to serve the Board and our community!
Thank you for your consideration!

Bio:
Nick was born and raised in Miami, Florida, in 1990 and grew up in the Pinecrest
neighborhood of the city. After, graduating from Miami Palmetto Sr. High, Nick got his
Bachelors of Fine Arts degree from The University of Florida, studying at Miami's New
World School of the Arts, in Downtown.
Ever since Nick was a kid, his biggest influence has been skateboarding, so, in 2012,
Nick started the non-profit organization Skate Free, to advocate for the creation of
skateparks in underserved urban areas. After 7 years of perseverance, Skate Free, in a
partnership with FDOT, MPA and the City of Miami Commission, opened the City of
Miami's first public skatepark, Lot 11 Skatepark, in the heart of Downtown. Since
opening its gates in 2019, Lot 11 has become known as the US's best skatepark with
visitors from all over the world and public endorsements from the sports best pro
athletes. Lot 11 also boasts the largest following of any public skatepark on social media
(21 k Followers).
Nick is also the owner and operator of downtown Miami's Andrew Skate Shop, located
at 10 NE 1st Ave, which has been in business since 2017. Since opening, Andrew has
become the beacon of skate and streetwear culture for Miami on a worldwide scale. The
brand is known the world over, with our clothing in over 25 stores across the globe

Magazine.
Personal Statement:
I live and breath Miami, and I am especially committed to Downtown. I have my
business here, my offices here, my home here, and I have built one of Miami's most
widely known and visited action sports attractions here. I believe that I can bring a fresh
and forward thinking perspective to solving the challenges that face Downtown Miami
today and in the long term. My business and charity commitments speak for theMselves
and I would like to further my efforts in seeing Downtown thrive by having a vole in tqp
political and administrative arena as a member of the DDA.= r
Please consider me for membership on the DDA board.

Ivonne de la Vega
Board Secretary
Miami DDA
Ms. De la Vega:
My name is Nick Katz, I am a downtown resident/homeowner (41 SE 5th St, #1007) and
business owner (Andrew Skateshop, 10 NE 1st Ave) and would like to apply for a seat on the
DDA board.
What I believe I can bring to the downtown is a fresh, new and youthful perspective on the
DDA's approach to recreation and sports culture. As the Principle behind the Lot 11 Skate Plaza
(325 NW 2nd Ave), I believe I have the know-how and reach to make downtown Miami a more
active and vibrant community in a way that would not infringe on the desires of those seeking a
quieter environment.
As the traditional ball and grass sports become a thing of the past, young people are looking for
new avenues to physically express themselves. I would like to use my passion for action sports
to foster a new era of activity for downtown residents and people from all walks of life coming
to downtown to skateboard, BMX, scooter and rollerblade.
As a graduate of New World School of the Arts (2014) I have seen the tremendous positive
development of downtown Miami over the last 8 years and assume that has been due in large
part to the work of the DDA.
1 am a part of downtowns resurgence and believe that in a more direct policy role with the DDA
I could have an even greater impact.
Downtown is my home, it is my passion, and I hope I can help steer its trajectory in the right
direction.
Best,
