SUBJECT: Request to Fill - GF Budget and
Financial Support Advisor

This memo serves as a respectful request to add, and subsequently fill, one (1) Grant Funded Budget
and Financial Support Advisor to the Department of Fire -Rescue's Table of Organization. This
position shall be 100% funded (salary and fringe benefits) by the Securing the Cities (STC)
Cooperative Agreement with the US Department of Homeland Security (Award #2658) and
therefore have no impact to the City's General Fund.
The Grant Funded Budget and Financial Support Advisor is critical to the success of the STC Miami
program. This position shall ultimately be responsible for overseeing all STC Miami Cooperative
Agreement Grant requirements and for ensuring that the City remains compliant with said
requirements through the preparation, justification, and execution of budget data and materials. This
position shall also be responsible for coordinating with the twenty-one (21) committed principal
partnering agencies to further ensure their compliance with the aforementioned requirements.
Without this position, maintaining compliance with grant requirements will be exceeding difficult
and may potentially put the grant at risk.
Should you approve this request, Fire will then seek the approval of the City Commission, as

This memo serves as a respectful request to add, and subsequently fill, one (1) Grant Funded
Administrative Aide II to the Department of Fire -Rescue's Table of Organization. This position shall
be 100% funded (salary and fringe benefits) by the Securing the Cities (STC) Cooperative
Agreement with the US Department of Homeland Security (Award #2658) and therefore have no
impact to the City's General Fund.
This Grant Funded Administrative Aide II position shall be responsible for fiscal, personnel,
legislation, accounting, record keeping, special projects, grants, contracts, and other management
areas for the STC Miami grant program in compliance with the Department of Homeland Security's
budget and financial requirements. In addition, this position shall coordinate and make travel
arrangements, maintain appointment schedules and calendars, and arrange meetings and conferences
with the twenty-one (21) committed principal partnering agencies. Ultimately, this position shall
receive, review, and process documents in compliance with all STC Miami Cooperative Agreement
Grant requirements.
