A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, PURSUANT TO
SECTION 18-82(A) OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS
AMENDED ("CITY CODE"), CLASSIFYING THE ATTACHED LIST OF
MEMORABILIA AS CATEGORY "A" STOCK SURPLUS; AUTHORIZING THE
DONATION OF SAID MEMORABILIA TO THE MIAMI POLICE BENEVOLENT
ASSOCIATION, INC., A FLORIDA NOT FOR PROFIT CORPORATION
("MPBA") FOR DISPLAY IN THEIR MUSEUM; AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE ANY AND ALL DOCUMENTS, IN
FORMS ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, AND IN COMPLIANCE
WITH ALL APPLICABLE LAWS, RULES, AND REGULATIONS, AS MAY BE
DEEMED NECESSARY FOR SAID PURPOSE.

WHEREAS, throughout the span of many years, the City of Miami ("City") Police
Department ("Police") has been collecting memorabilia of historic significance that it wishes to
preserve by donating the same to the Miami Police Benevolent Association, Inc., a Florida not
for profit corporation ("MPBA"), for display in their museum; and
WHEREAS, said memorabilia was housed in a showcase at Police Headquarters for
many years and did not serve any intended purpose, nor does it have any financial impact; and
WHEREAS, the City's Chief Procurement Officer has declared the attached list of said
memorabilia as Category "A" stock surplus; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 18-82(a) of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as
amended ("City Code"), Category "A" stock surplus shall be available for disposition as the
City's contribution or commitment in support of a particular public purpose which may include
those community, civic, or social service programs as may be authorized by the City
Commission; and
WHEREAS, the MPBA is comprised of Police veterans, provides community, civic, and
social programs, and is qualified to receive Category "A" stock surplus from the City; and
WHEREAS, the MPBA will use the memorabilia for the sole purpose of displaying the
same in their museum for preservation of Police history and public education; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends adoption of this Resolution allowing for the
donation of this memorabilia to the MPBA for display in the Police Museum;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are

adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. Pursuant to Section 18-82(a) of the City Code, classification of the attached
list of memorabilia as Category "A" stock surplus, is hereby authorized.
Section 3. The donation of said memorabilia to the MPBA for display in their Police
museum is hereby authorized.'
Section 4. The City Manager is authorized' to negotiate and execute any and all
documents, in forms acceptable to the City Attorney, and in compliance with all laws, rules, and
regulations, as may be deemed necessary for said purpose.
Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
