The expansion is made possible through Lotus Village II LLC's S3.5 million acquisition of land at Northwest 14th Terrace and Second Avenue. The project is to be funded by gifts and financing arranged by Lotus Endowment Fund Inc.. which launched a capital campaign to raise private funds needed to build, operate and maintain the Children's Village. The 16-year-old women's shel- ter, which says it is the largest in the nation, says the Children's Village will feature deeper educational supports and programming for children and youth, community support facilities, therapeutic and social services, and a playground.
