Subject: Recommendation - Approve Conceptual Design Park Master Plan to Improve
Morningside Park
Purpose of the Item:
The purpose of this item is to present the Conceptual Design Master Plan for review
and approval to improve Morningside Park, and to rescind any and all prior conflicting
resolutions pertaining to the matter.
Background Information:
At the December 9Lh Commission meeting Mr. Elvis Cruz made a personal appearance
to discuss the waterfront standards at Morningside Park as a part of item PA. I. Mr. Neil
Robertson appeared to discuss storm water plans pertaining to the park, for P A.2. As a
result, a directive was given by Commissioner Russell for City staff to bring before City
Commission a conceptual design and resolution to rescind R-20-0009, as documented
under item NA.6 on the December 9th agenda.

A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
APPROVING THE CONCEPTUAL DESIGN PARK MASTER PLAN TO IMPROVE
MORNINGSIDE PARK PRESENTED BY THE ADMINISTRATION, ATTACHED AND
INCORPORATED AS EXHIBIT "A", SUBJECT TO FURTHER REVIEW BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE DESIGN AND LOCATIONS OF THE POOL AND LOOP ROAD;
RESCINDING ANY AND ALL PRIOR CONFLICTING RESOLUTIONS.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") is in the process of designing improvements to
Morningside Park located at 5215 Northeast 7 Avenue, Miami, Florida; and
WHEREAS, the Administration has presented a conceptual design park master plan to
improve Morningside Park, attached and incorporated as Exhibit "A"; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City to approve the conceptual design park
master plan presented by the Administration and rescind any and all prior conflicting resolutions;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The conceptual design park master plan to improve Morningside Park
presented by the Administration, attached and incorporated as Exhibit "A," is hereby approved
subject to further review by the City Commission of the design and locations of the pool and
loop road.
Section 3. Any and all prior conflicting resolutions are hereby rescinded.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and
signature of the Mayor.
APPROVED AS TO FORM AND CORRECTNESS:

1 If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
