A rare snake trying to
enjoy a meal at a Florida
park has paid the ultimate
price.
According to a Facebook
post from the Florida Fish
and Wildlife Conservation
Commission, a human
visitor happened upon the
unfortunate creature after
it had already died on a
trail at John Pennekamp
Coral Reef State Park in
Key Largo.
The snake's last meal,
apparently a juvenile Keys
giant centipede, was still
lodged in its open mouth;
the bug halfway in, half-
way out.
Wildlife officials identi-
fied the orange reptile as a
rim rock crowned snake.
The last time one of these
little guys was seen was in
2015 near the nest of a
federally endangered Key
Largo woodrat, the Fish
and Wildlife agency noted.
Cause of death: poison-
ing.
The FWC said that
crowned snakes are usu-
ally immune to the venom
of centipedes, but "some-
thing went wrong during

ELEVATOR MODERNIZATION AND UPGRADE
Sealed Proposals for Elevate Modernization and Upgrade will be received by the City of
Opa-locka at the Office of the City Clerk, 780 Fisherman St, 4th Floor, Opa-ocka, Florida
33054, until Wednesday, April 20, 2022 by 2:00 p.m. Any RFP Package received after the
designated closing time will be returned unopened. The City of Opa-ocka will be accepting
proposals by mail, however it is your responsibility to submit your proposal by the due date.
In addition, proposals maybe submitted via www.demandanr.com (e-bid). The address to
submit sealed proposals is listed below:

An original and six (6) copies for a total of seven (7) plus 1 copy of the proposal package on
USB Flash Dnve in PDF format shall be submitted in sealed envelopes/packages addressed
to the City Clerk. City of Opa-locks, Florida, and marked RFP for Elevator Modernization
and Upgrade.
Proposers desinng information for use in preparing proposals may obtain a set of such docu-
ments by visiting the City's website at wwwopalockafi.gov or www.demandstarcom.
The City reserves the right to accept or reject any and all proposals and to waive any tech-
nicalities or irteguantles therein. The City further reserves the right to award a contract to
that proposer whose proposal best complies with the RFP NO: 22-0420200 requirements.
Proposers may not withdraw their proposal fora period of ninety (90) days from the date set
for the opening thereof.
