A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ACCEPT A DONATION, IN THE FORM OF A SCULPTURE, AS
WELL AS ALL COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE INSTALLATION OF SAID
SCULPTURE ("DONATION"), FROM ASOCIACION DE EMPRESARIOS Y
PROFESIONALES GALLEGOS DE LOS ESTADOS UNIDOS, CORP. FOR
THE PURPOSE OF INSTALLING SAID SCULPTURE AT A CERTAIN
LOCATION IN DISTRICT 3 OF THE CITY OF MIAMI; AUTHORIZING THE
INSTALLATION OF THE SCULPTURE AT APPROXIMATELY THE
INTERSECTION OF SOUTHWEST 13 AVENUE AND SOUTHWEST 9 STREET,
MIAMI, FLORIDA; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE ANY AND ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, IN A
FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, TO ACCEPT SAID
DONATION.
WHEREAS, Asociacion de Empresarios y Profesionales Gallegos de Los Estados
Unidos, Corp. ("Donor") has offered to donate a sculpture ("Sculpture") and has also offered to
cover all costs associated with installing the Sculpture ("Installation Costs") for the purpose of
display at Southwest 13 Avenue and approximately Southwest 9 Street, Miami, Florida,
("Location"); and
WHEREAS, the Donor is donating the Sculpture, and any and all Installation Costs
(collectively, "Donation") to mark another location of the Camino de Santiago; and
WHEREAS, the Camino de Santiago is a network of statues across the world that lead
to the shrine of the apostle Saint James the Great in the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela
and the City of Miami ("City") wishes to be a part of the network of the pilgrimage; and
WHEREAS, the City will accept the donation and installation of the Sculpture and the
City will maintain the Sculpture; and
WHERAS, the City authorizes the Sculpture to be install at approximately the
intersection of Southwest 13 Avenue and Southwest 9 Street; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 2-33(f) of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida,
as amended, the City Commission, by a majority vote, hereby deems this Resolution to be of an
emergency nature;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.

Section 2. The City Manager is authorized' to accept the Donation from the Donor for
the purpose of displaying the Sculpture at the Location.
Section 3. The City Commission hereby authorizes the installation of the Sculpture at
approximately the intersection of Southwest 13 Avenue and Southwest 9 Street, Miami, Florida.
Section 4. The City Manager is authorized' to negotiate and execute any and all
necessary documents, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, to accept said Donation.
Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
