The rights of private property need to be balanced with the greater good of the community and environment. Developers and real estate investors are short sighted, Looking for their quick profit. But the bigger picture is that the tree canopy is what attracts people (in part) to move to these areas, or tourists to visit and spend their money here. In the end, it wilt come at a high cost of not only the beauty of the trees, but real dollars in reducing the attractiveness of the neighborhoods, one tree at a time. FL - Futu These amendments appear to weaken Chapter 17 in various ways and seek to divert funds from the Tree re Trust to the city's tree maintenance department. Please defer the future First Reading and revisit this Legi issue, taking into account public comments and amend these changes to protect and preserve rather than sLati allow further diminishment of the tree canopy. on End of Report 11358 Submittal -Public Comments Submitted Online for the January 13, 2022 City Commission Meeting
