A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING AND
DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO CONTINUE PURCHASING THE STANDARD
UNIFORMS AND ACCESSORIES FOR MIAMI POLICE DEPARTMENT ("POLICE")
PERSONNEL PURSUANT TO INVITATION FOR BID NO. 486326 AWARDED TO
GALLS, LLC PURSUANT TO RESOLUTION NO. R-15-0367 ADOPTED ON
SEPTEMBER 10, 2015; FURTHER AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY
MANAGER TO REQUIRE AND COLLECT REIMBURSEMENTS FOR PRICE
DIFFERENTIALS FROM ALL POLICE PERSONNEL SELECTING BRAND NAMES
AND MODELS OTHER THAN THOSE FOR SAID STANDARD UNIFORMS
CURRENTLY PURCHASED FOR POLICE, BY ANY SUCH MEANS DEEMED
NECESSARY.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. R-15-0367 adopted on September 10, 2015, the
City of Miami ("City") awarded a contract to Galls, LLC ("Contract") for the purchase of uniforms
for the Miami Police Department ("Police"); and
WHEREAS, the standard uniforms for Police personnel are currently purchased
pursuant to the Contract's existing line items and pricing for the corresponding brand names
and models for the same; and
WHEREAS, the selection of brand names and models other than those on the Contract
for the standard uniforms currently purchased for Police involve the addition of new line items to
the Contract and a price differential; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager will require and collect reimbursements for said price
differentials from all Police personnel selecting brand names and models other than those for
the standard uniforms currently purchased for Police by any and all means deemed necessary;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble of this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this section.
Section 2. The City Manager is authorized' and directed to continue purchasing the
standard uniforms and accessories for Police personnel pursuant to Invitation for Bid No.
486326 awarded to the Contract pursuant to Resolution No. R-15-0367 adopted on September
10, 2015.
1 The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all legal requirements that may be
imposed, including but not limited to, those prescribed by applicable City Charter and City Code
provisions.
Section 3. The City Manager is further authorized' and directed to require and collect
reimbursements for price differentials from all Police personnel selecting brand names and
models other than those for the standard uniforms currently purchased for Police by any and
means deemed necessary.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
