There is no ordinance in place for parking, the city has not allowed for this area to have parking decals for residences nor are public service aids administering tickets for parking violations. People park throughout the block. It is difficult to pull -in and out of the drive ways majority of the time. People come zipping down the block like they are on a main street regularly. Now, to build a school would only increase and complicate the already challenging neighborhood situation. Therefore, I do not agree with the current request of land use. I am a resident of little haiti and it am strongly opposed to this proposed zoning change . We need to know how a property will be used in the future . I am a resident of little haiti and I am strongly opposed to this proposed zoning change . This is a residential neighborhood and we want to keep it a such .We are already feeling the negative impact of many people parking on our street to eat at the nearby restaurant because they don't offer parking for the patrons . To Whom it May Concern: I am a longterm resident of NE 50 Street in Little Haiti. I am writing with regard to the proposed zoning change for 180 NE 50 Street. I am in agreement with the city of Miami planning staff and am strongly opposed to this proposed change. As indicated in the staff analysis, this proposed change is inconsistent with numerous city policies. From the staff analysis: "The increased flexibility for commercial uses under Medium Density Restricted Commercial would be an encroachment into the residential neighborhood west of NE 2nd Ave. Without certainty of the Property's intended future use and activities, it cannot be determined if the new use would be compatible with the residential neighborhood. The uncertainty of compatibility compounded by the encroachment into the residential area does not justify this change in FLUM designation" From the above, it is particularly concerning to me that this zoning change would allow for types of development that would be extremely incompatible with the neighborhood with no certainty as to what form these developments might take.
