RE: Charles Avenue Grove Inn Development
Greetings Mr. Mayor and Commissioners. I am writing to urge your support
for the Charles Avenue Grove Inn development project.
As I stated in my recent presentation to you, I know and feel that this project
would be a great convergence of the rich history and continued contribution
by the African American/Bahamian citizens/residents who settled here more
than a 100 years ago. The Grove Inn project represent the appropriate buffer
between the high commercial and the residential zoning. It provides the
appropriate T 4 development in between T5 commercial and the residential
T3. I strongly feel that this is a project that will help our community with its
economic development aspirations by creating jobs, catalyzing businesses,
and contributing to the much -needed revitalization of this under -served and
under invested community. This project is genius in its concept and addresses
in an astute manner all of the touch points incorporated in community
revitalization.
In addition, this project represents an opportunity to garner a well -deserved
return on the century long investment by a leading hardworking family -the
Stirrups, and a cross cultural collaboration of residents in doing something
great for all of Coconut Grove and the City of Miami.
