A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION DIRECTING THE CITY
MANAGER TO TAKE ANY AND ALL STEPS NECESSARY TO MAKE THE
TEMPORARY OUTDOOR DINING PROGRAM ESTABLISHED PURSUANT TO
RESOLUTION NO. R-20-0156 ADOPTED ON MAY 14, 2020 AND EXTENDED
BY RESOLUTION NO. R-20-0231 ADOPTED ON JULY 23, 2020 A
PERMANENT PROGRAM.

WHEREAS, on May 14, 2020, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. R- -01;56
authorizing the City Manager to identify feasible portions of City of Miami ("City") rights _of -way,
that may be repurposed for pedestrian and sidewalk cafe usage ("Outdoor Dining Progt m"P)
and to take any and all steps necessary to effectuate such repurposing until August 20, 2020 in
order to assist businesses negatively affected by the Novel Coronavirus ("COVID-19")
pandemic; and
WHEREAS, on July 23, 2020, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. R-20-0231,
which extended the Outdoor Dining Program to further assist struggling businesses; and �O W

WHEREAS, the Outdoor Dining Program has been a successful and popular program ? ▪ D
that has enhanced the commercial experience for City residents and visitors, as well as help 1— a 0
businesses in the City while keeping everyone safe; and N z o

WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to make the Outdoor Dining Program a '^ 0 1—
permanent program available to all businesses throughout the City; „a, a o

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF W a ▪ ▪ W

Section 1. The recitals and findings set forth in the Preamble to this Resolution are o w a
hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. = o W

Section 2. The City Manager is directed to take any and all steps necessary to make the
Outdoor Dining Program created by Resolution No. R-20-0156 adopted on May 14, 2020 a
permanent program offered to all businesses throughout the City.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and
signature by the Mayor.'
1 If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
