There are no legal permits (building or from DERM ) that have
been issued to build a boardwalk in west matheson park.. To
close the entire park is disasterous when the north entrance
should be kept open as it always has been... many emails have
been released to show that the only gain here is for the HOA of
Hammock lakes neighborhood. The boardwalk will destroy the
natural habitat and should not be allowed! No permits ... no
construction!!!
The County wants to turn a rare, untouched tropical hardwood
hammock into a developed park with a fenced -in dog area and a
boardwalk cutting through the forest. The plan, announced in
August 2020, came in response to complaints from the affluent
neighborhood of 12 houses bordering West Matheson Hammock
park. The homeowners complain that the park creates too much
traffic in their neighborhood (the roads are all public). Emails
requested via Florida sunshine laws show that some of the
PH - residents are real estate developers with ties to city officials,
Public including Commissioner Xavier Suarez who's responsible for the
Hearings plan. The land West Matheson sits on is popular among locals
as a dog park, and beloved by nature lovers as one of the few
tropical hardwood hammocks still untouched by South Florida
developers. The county's plan would completely change the
character of the park, but more importantly would risk the health
of an exceedingly rare ecosystem. Tropical hardwood
hammocks are only found in the part of the Everglades south of
Miami and are home to countless endangered plants and
animals.
Roselvic Noguera, Antillean Marine Shipping, 3038 NW North
River Drive, Miami, 33142. ITEM SR4 - ORDINANCE 7338 OF
THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AMENDING CHAPTER 20,29
SR. 4 and 54 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI We oppose the
7338 approval of this ordinance, because the proposed elevation
3038 NW Amend requirement will diminish vessel docking capabilities and could
Roselvic Noguera North Code - involve a negative impact on the economy of the Miami River.
River Dr Chapter Vessel docking and customary upland facility access are
20, 29 essential for efficient and viable marine industry operations. Any
and 54 amendment language to City of Miami Code regarding shoreline
protection and stabilization should reflect reasonable flexibility
for structural requirements for waterway -dependent marine
industry operations.

Orin Black 341 NW SR. 4 Please exempt the Miami River from this +2.5ft increase in
South 7338 height for bulkheads. The water table within 50yds of the river
River Amend moves in unison with the tide, called tidal flux. The geology of
Drive, Code - the limerock allows water to flow freely through it, rising up from
Miami, FL Chapter the bottom when the weight of the river table increases.
33128 20, 29 Elevating a wall in the middle of the tidal flux zone, will not
and 54 impact flooding. This is apparent at King Tides where water is
rising up out City storm drains and floods the north intersection
of the 5th Street Bridge. It will however be more expensive for
the property owners and make it more difficult for boat
operators to engage the upland shoreline. - Thank you- Orin

Items 6981 and 6982 Carrollton's Proposed School at VILLA
WOODBINE As a coconut grove resident, I oppose this school
being built in coconut grove. It's unacceptable Carrollton is
proposing to keep only 40 Trees of Villa Woodbine's 220
hallmark tree canopy. Per a 2020 Arborist Report, building
construction will de -stabilize many of the remaining tree species
and send them into a non -recoverable decline. It's unacceptable
the proposed overwhelming scale with 104,000 SF or 65%
footprint of non -pervious surface. It's unacceptable to increase
Tigertail traffic by 1438 daily trips or 135% when it is already
congested during peak times. It's unacceptable to shift the tax
burden on coconut grove residents by removing tax revenue,
when the attendees will mostly come from other areas. It's
unacceptable to build this where there are already 12 private
schools in coconut grove fully serving the community and mostly
students outside the city of Miami.
