ASSISTANT CHIEF ADMTNISTR.ATION DIV The Special Investigations Section is currently assigned a 1991 Ford van that was converted to a video surveillance platform vehicle in that year. The vehicle contains small televisions, cameras and VCR's which are all obsolete now after 29 years. The approximate value of the van is $2,000 to $3000 U.S.D. The video surveillance equipment has no value as it is outdated. The company, which built it in 1991, is now out of business (Phoenix Electronics). Since the time this vehicle was no longer deemed functional for our section it has been housed in a secured and covered7torage which allowed it to be maintarnecfin visual good condition. For this reason I would like o donfate the vehicle to the Miami Police Bepeyc Tent Association so it may be placed in their museum. Preserving history is a reminder of those that served and dedicated to the Miami Police Department as we[1 as inspire future • brave men and women who accept the challenge of becoming a police officer.
