A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A PUBLIC
TRANSPORTATION GRANT AGREEMENT, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE
ATTACHED FORM, BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI ("CITY") AND THE
FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION ("FDOT"); ACCEPTING THE
STATE OF FLORIDA'S CONTRIBUTION IN THE AMOUNT OF $354,000.00
FOR CAPITAL FUNDING FOR ADDITIONAL TRANSIT VEHICLES;
AUTHORIZING THE ALLOCATION OF THE CITY'S REQUIRED MATCHING
FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $354,000.00 FROM THE CITY'S SHARE OF THE
CHARTER COUNTY AND REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM SURTAX.
WHEREAS, in an effort to reduce vehicular congestion, improve pedestrian mobility, and
enhance transit service within the City of Miami ("City"), the City wishes to add transit vehicles
to the City's Trolley program; and
WHEREAS, the Florida Department of Transportation ("FDOT") has programmed
$354,000.00 of State of Florida ("State") funds for capital funding for the proposed acquisition of
transit vehicles; and
WHEREAS, the City is required to provide an equivalent match and enter into a Public
Transportation Grant Agreement ("Agreement") with FDOT, in substantially the attached form,
for said purpose; and
WHEREAS, the City's matching funds in the amount of $354,000.00 are to be allocated
from the City's share of the Charter County and Regional Transportation System Surtax levied
pursuant to Section 212.055(1), Florida Statutes (2020), and Chapter 29, Article XVI of the
Code of Miami -Dade County, Florida ("Transit Surtax");
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The City Manager is authorized' to execute the Agreement, in substantially
the attached form, between the City and FDOT.
Section 3. The City Manager is further authorized' to accept the State's contribution in
the amount of $354,000.00 for the operating costs associated with the Miami Trolley system.
1 The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all legal requirements that may be
imposed, including but not limited to, those prescribed by applicable City Charter and City Code
provisions.

Section 4. Funds for the City match in the amount of $354,000.00 are allocated from the
City's share of the Transit Surtax.
Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and
signature of the Mayor.2

from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
