Project Narrative/Description
The Marine Stadium located at 3501 Rickenbacker Causeway is one of the most important historic property for the City of Miami. The facility presented the most famous
musical concerts in Miami history as well as other water sport activities. In 1992, twenty one years ago, Hurricane Andrew damaged the Stadium. Since then, the
structure of the Stadium has suffered enormous deterioration. Major repairs and replacements have to be done in order to preserve this historic building. The project
includes the historic resoration of the Marine Stadium to a successful and operable venue for functional use by City of Miami residents and visitors.
GOB Total Funding Allocation Narrative/Description
The scope of work for GOB funds involves construction activities for the historic restoration and renovation of the Marine Stadium such as (but not limited to) structural
restoration of the stadium, with materials, features and character as it appeared in its original likeness during the 1960s. Work also includes, new systems i.e. electrical,
mechanical, lighting, sound, plumbing, new seating and removal of asbestos material as necessary.
GOB 2020 - 21 Funding Allocation Narrative/Description
All GOB funds will be used for the construction phase of the project which is planned between October 2020 to May 2022.
