A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION ACCEPTING GRANT FUNDS IN
THE AMOUNT OF $1,104,350.00, WITH NO MATCHING FUNDS REQUIRED FROM
THE CITY OF MIAMI ("CITY"), CONSISTING OF A GRANT AWARDED BY THE
UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY, FEDERAL
EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY, TO THE CITY'S DEPARTMENT OF FIRE -
RESCUE TO BE USED FOR THE TRAINING OF PERSONNEL IN SPECIALIZED
RAPID INTERVENTION SURVIVAL TECHNIQUES FOR THE PERIOD BEGINNING
SEPTEMBER 29, 2020 AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 28, 2021; FURTHER
ESTABLISHING A NEW SPECIAL REVENUE PROJECT TITLED "FY-2019
ASSISTANCE TO FIREFIGHTERS GRANT PROGRAM" AND APPROPRIATING
FUNDS FOR THE OPERATION OF THE SAME; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE ANY AND ALL NECESSARY
DOCUMENTS, ALL IN FORMS ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, FOR THE
ACCEPTANCE, IMPLEMENTATION OF, AND COMPLIANCE WITH SAID GRANT
AWARD.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami's ("City") Department of Fire -Rescue has been awarded
grant funding from the Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management
Agency ("FEMA") in an amount not to exceed $1,104,350.00 ("Grant Award") to be used for the
training of personnel in specialized rapid intervention survival techniques; and
WHEREAS, the Grant Award requires no matching funds from the City; and
WHEREAS, the Grant Award will be placed in Account
No.11000.184010.431000.0000.00000; and
WHEREAS, it is appropriate for the City Commission to accept the Grant Award,
establish a Special Revenue Project, and authorize the City Manager to negotiate and execute
any and all necessary documents, all in forms acceptable to the City Attorney, for the
acceptance, implementation of, and compliance with the Grant Award and to appropriate the
same;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section. 2. The City Manager is authorized' to accept the Grant Award, with no matching
funds required from the City, from FEMA for the City's Department of Fire -Rescue to be used for

the training of personnel in specialized rapid intervention survival techniques for the period
beginning September 29, 2020 and ending September 28, 2021.
Section 3. The following Special Revenue Project is established and resources are
appropriated as described below:

Section 4. The City Manager is authorized to negotiate and execute any and all
necessary documents, all in forms acceptable to the City Attorney, for the acceptance,
implementation of, and compliance with the Grant Award.
Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and
signature of the Mayor.2
