Bad actors that dump poison into this public utility need to be held accountable and feel the pain of polluting our home. Thank you for the opportunity to comment. Today, I would like to comment in favor of item number SR.3. Biscayne Bay is at an ecological tipping point. It simply cannot withstand additional pollution inputs -- including those from construction sediment, debris, trash, and silt. These pollutants can enter our waterways through the stormwater system and can harm our seagrasses, can decrease available oxygen levels in the Bay, and can result in water quality decline. This ordinance would permit the City to act quickly to address construction site pollution and hold violators accountable. I am in favor of this ordinance as a measure to protect our Bay and water quality and I encourage this Commission to pass this measure on second reading today. Thank you. Please protect our bays! From my condo I see run off polluting the bay every time it rains. Without a healthy ocean, Miami loses its most important treasure. Please protect Biscayne Bay by taking immediate action on enforcement of water polluters. We must start setting an example that our environment matters —and its protection comes first! My name is Todd Tragash. I own three consecutive properties at 3500, 3526, and 3530 N. Miami Avenue, all of which would fall within the boundaries of the proposed Wynwood Norte Neighborhood Revitalization District (NRD-2). My architectural firm, STA Architectural Group, has operated out of 3526 N. I notice that while the Community Vision Plan proposes these three properties be rezoned from T5-O to T6-8-O, the staff recommendation is to split these properties and only rezone a portion to T6-8-O, leaving the remainder at the current T5-O. We believe it is important that the PZAB follow the Community Vision Plan for these properties (3500-3526-3530 N. Miami Ave) for the following reasons: 1. Importance to Appropriately Define the Corner Pillar of the Wynwood Norte District Splitting the block's zoning designation at the corner of N. Miami Ave & NW 36th St diminishes that significance. 2. Would Create a Split of an Existing Property 3526 & 3530 are a single property with the L'-shape building spanning the two folios. Mr. Tragash acquired the two properties back in 1997 & 1999 and it has always been his intent to develop the site as one project. My name is Todd Tragash. I am writing in SUPPORT of the WYNWOOD NORTE NEIGHBORHOOD REVITALIZATION DISTRICT and ZONING CHANGES PROPOSED BY THE CITY. (Items PZ.6, PZ.7 and PZ.8) Times have changed. Miami has grown. this neighborhood needs to grow and evolve to serve the needs of the community. With the NRD2, we have an action plan that incorporates input from the community over the past 2 years, to bring our neighborhood back in a positive way: -Safer sidewalks -New housing that is affordable to families. -Opportunities for small businesses. -Jobs for local residents Please commissioners: We ask you to SUPPORT the WYNWOOD NORTE NEIGHBORHOOD REVITALIZATION DISTRICT Thanks Hola muy buenas tardes sr. Comisionado. Muchisimas gracias y que tenga un buen dia Good morning, Mr. Chairman and City Commissioners. I am writing in support of Item SR 3, which comes before you for second reading today. Sponsoring Commissioner Ken Russell, reached out to the Builders Association Members for discussion and additional clarity on the issues involved here. We support his good efforts and also want to ensure that no environmental pollution discharges reach our waters or land from any construction sites. Our members are supportive of these efforts, as are other allied industry groups, who belong to our Joint Association Task Force. We thank the Commissioner for his cooperation and reaching out to our industry with a very good outcome for both the environment and the many of thousands of jobs - and families - our industry represents! Thank you, Truly Burton Biscayne Bay is at an Ecological tipping point - it is irresponsible of us to continue to allow construction sites to pollute the water. The runoff entering out water systems are causing a decrease in oxygen causing algae blooms and other problems which is killing the biodiversity of the Bay. I am in favor of this ordinance as a measure to protect the Bay and our water quality. I encourage the commission to pass this measure on second reading today. Thank you!
