HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-20-0289City of Miami Resolution R-20-0289 Legislation City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 7654 Final Action Date: 9/24/2020 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION ACCEPTING THE BID RECEIVED ON JANUARY 6, 2020 PURSUANT TO INVITATION FOR BID NO. 1140381 FOR THE PROVISION OF SCUBA DIVING EQUIPMENT, ACCESSORIES, REPAIRS, AND MAINTENANCE, ON AN AS NEEDED BASIS, FROM AUSTIN'S DIVING CENTER, INC., A FLORIDA PROFIT CORPORATION, THE LOWEST RESPONSIVE AND RESPONSIBLE BIDDER, FOR THE CITY OF MIAMI'S ("CITY") POLICE DEPARTMENT ("POLICE") FOR AN INITIAL PERIOD OF THREE (3) YEARS WITH THE OPTION TO RENEW FOR TWO (2) ADDITIONAL ONE (1) YEAR PERIODS; ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM POLICE GENERAL ACCOUNT FUND NO. 00001.190101.546000.0000.00000 AND SUCH OTHER SOURCES OF FUNDS AT THE TIME OF NEED, SUBJECT TO THE AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS AND BUDGETARY APPROVAL; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE ANY AND ALL OTHER DOCUMENTS, INCLUDING ANY AMENDMENTS, RENEWALS, AND EXTENSIONS SUBJECT TO ALL ALLOCATIONS, APPROPRIATIONS, PRIOR BUDGETARY APPROVALS, COMPLIANCE WITH ALL APPLICABLE PROVISIONS OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED ("CITY CODE"), INCLUDING THE CITY'S PROCUREMENT ORDINANCE, ANTI -DEFICIENCY ACT, AND FINANCIAL INTEGRITY PRINCIPLES, ALL AS SET FORTH IN CHAPTER 18 OF THE CITY CODE, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, AND IN COMPLIANCE WITH ALL APPLICABLE LAWS, RULES, AND REGULATIONS, AS MAY BE DEEMED NECESSARY FOR SAID PURPOSE. WHEREAS, the City of Miami's ("City") Police Department ("Police") has a need for scuba diving equipment, accessories, repairs, and maintenance for its Marine Patrol Detail Division; and WHEREAS, on December 9, 2019, the Department of Procurement ("Procurement") issued Invitation for Bids ("IFB") No. 1140381 to establish a contract for the provision of scuba diving equipment, accessories, repairs, and maintenance on an as -needed basis; and WHEREAS, bids in response to this IFB were received on January 6, 2020 and Austin's Diving Center, Inc., a Florida profit corporation ("Austin's"), is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: City of Miami Page 1 of 2 File ID: 7654 (Revision:) Printed On: 5/9/2025 File ID: 7654 Enactment Number: R-20-0289 Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The bid received January 6, 2020 pursuant to IFB No. 1140381 for the provision of scuba diving equipment, accessories, repairs, and maintenance, on an as -needed basis, from Austin's, the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, for an initial period of three (3) years with an option to renew for two (2) additional one (1) year periods is accepted. Section 3. Funds are allocated from Police General Account Fund No. 00001.190101.546000.0000.00000 and such other sources of funds at the time of need, subject to the availability of funds and budgetary approval. Section4. The City Manager is authorized' to negotiate and execute all other documents, including any amendments, renewals, and extensions, subject to all allocations, appropriations, prior budgetary approvals, compliance with all applicable provisions of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended ("City Code"), including the City's Procurement Ordinance, Anti -Deficiency Act, and Financial Integrity Principles, all as set forth in Chapter 18 of the City Code, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, and in compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations, as may be deemed necessary for said purpose. Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
