Background of Item: The City intends to construct and connect to the County's water and sewer systems a public pool for three hundred fifty-five (355) persons, representing an average daily gallonage of ten thousand six hundred fifty (10,650) gallons, replacing a public pool with capacity of one hundred one (101) persons, representing an average daily gallonage credit of three thousand thirty (3,030) gallons. Therefore, the agreed total average daily gallonage increase is seven thousand six hundred twenty (7,620) gallons, resulting in combined water and sewer connection charges in the amount of fifty-three thousand two hundred sixty-three dollars and eighty cents (53,263.80). WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") intends to construct a public pool for three hundred fifty-five (355) persons at Shenandoah Park located at 1800 Southwest 21st Avenue, Miami, Florida ("Property"), as part of the project known as Shenandoah Park Pool Renovation, Office of Capital Improvements ("OCI") Project No. 40-B40563 ("Project"); and WHEREAS, Miami -Dade County Water and Sewer Department ("WASD") provides water and sewer services for the City at the Property; and WHEREAS, the total average daily gallonage increase is seven thousand, six hundred twenty (7,620) gallons, resulting in combined water and sewer connection charges in an amount not to exceed Fifty -Three Thousand, Two Hundred Sixty -Three Dollars and Eighty Cents ($53,263.80), to be paid from OCI Project No. 40-B40563 ; and WHEREAS, the City Manager requests authorization to execute an agreement, in substantially the attached form, for water and sewer services with WASD for the Project; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The City Manager is authorized' to execute an agreement, in substantially the attached form, with WASD for the provision of water and sewer services for the Project. Section 3. Funds in an amount not to exceed Fifty -Three Thousand, Two Hundred Sixty -Three Dollars and Eighty Cents ($53,263.80) for the combined water and sewer connection charges for the Project are to be allocated and appropriated from OCI Project No. 40-B0563. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption. 1 The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all legal requirements that may be imposed, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and City Code provisions.
