Request to waive competitive
sealed bidding methods
pursuant to City Code 18-85(a)
The Miami Police Departn-ment ("Police") respectfully requests the waiver of the competitive sealed
bidding procedures pursuant to City Code 18-85(a) for the rental of six (6) extended length sport
utility vehicles ("SUV").
Royal Rent-A-Car Systems of Florida, Inc. "Royal" has agreed to provide the extended length sport
utility vehicles ("SUV") at a cost not to exceed $1,125.00 per vehicle. The other vendor on the
Miami -Dade County Procurement Roadmap has the same vehicle listed for $1,230.00 per vehicle.
Pursuant to section, 18-85, as amended, it is respectfully recommended that you, as the City
Manager, waive competitive sealed bidding methods via this written finding and reasons herein.
Said waiver shall need to be ratified, confirmed, and approved by the Miami City Commission by a
four -fifths (4/5ths) affirmative vote during an advertised public hearing.
Your signature below confirms your approval of waiving competitive sealed bidding methods for the
provision of custodial`.ervices at City Hall.
