The study is being completed to investigate solutions that reduce damage and risk from flooding that come from storm surges associated with hurricanes and tropical storms with a significant portion of the recommended features to be located within the City of Miami. Representatives from the Corps will present an overview of the tentatively selected plan and answer questions regarding recommendations within the study. Background of Item: The Draft Feasibility Report with Integrated Environmental Impact Statement for the Miami -Dade Back Bay Coastal Storm Risk Feasibility Study appendixes can be downloaded at this address: https://www.saj.usace.army.mil/MiamiDadeBackBayCSRMFeasibilityStudy/. The study identifies structural and nonstructural measures to reduce vulnerability to coastal storms, with a significant portion focused within the City of Miami. The estimated cost of the project is $4,586,000,000 with a Benefit -to -Cost Ratio (BCR) of 9.4. More information is contained in the attached summary. Residents and the City have until July 20, 2020 to comment and provide feedback to the recommended plan.
