District 5 has proposed to partner with two community organizations with ties in their
community. Martin Luther King Economic Development Corporation (MLK EDC) and
Little Haiti Optimist Foundation (LHOF) will provide hot meal delivery. Allocating
$115,000 to MLK EDC and $75,000 to LHOF and an advance up to $5,000 to each
organization, as needed. District 5 will be adopting a restaurant voucher program to
allow social distancing and aid local businesses.
Under consultation with the City Manager, the vendors, methods of deliveries, types of
eligible recipients, or programs may change from time to time to accomplish the
District's objective of feeding eligible individuals.
