2021, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $950,000.00 TO BE UTILIZED FROM JULY
1, 2020 TO JUNE 30, 2021 AND AN ADDITIONAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED
$950,000.00 FOR FISCAL YEAR 2021-2022 TO BE UTILIZED FROM JULY 1, 2021
TO JUNE 30, 2022 , AS SPECIFIED IN EXHIBIT "A", ATTACHED AND
INCORPORATED; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE
AND EXECUTE ANY AND ALL DOCUMENTS, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE
CITY ATTORNEY, INCLUDING AMENDMENTS, RENEWALS, EXTENSIONS, AND
MODIFICATIONS, AS MAY BE NECESSARY, SUBJECT TO ALL FEDERAL, STATE,
AND LOCAL LAWS THAT REGULATE THE USE OF SUCH FUNDS, FOR SAID
PURPOSE.
Background of Item:
Pursuant to Resolution No. R- , adopted April 9, 2020 the Miami City
Commission approved the acceptance of the Florida State HOPWA fund in an amount
not to exceed $950,000.00 for the State of Florida's Fiscal Year 2020-2021 and an
additional amount not to exceed $950,000.00 for Fiscal Year 2021-2022.
The fund is provided for the purpose of implementing programs that help sustain and/or
transition individuals and families with aids, to stable housing in Miami -Dade County.
The City Administration recommends the allocation of Florida State HOPWA Program
fund, in an amount not to exceed $950,000.00 for Fiscal Year 2020-21 and an additional
amount not to exceed $950,000.00 for Fiscal Year 2021-22, as specified in Exhibit "A,"
attached and incorporated, beginning July 1, 2020 for the purpose of implementing
programs that help sustain or transition individuals and families with aids, to stable
housing in Miami Dade County.

A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
AUTHORIZING THE ALLOCATION OF FLORIDA STATE HOUSING OPPORTUNITIES
FOR PERSONS WITH AIDS ("HOPWA") PROGRAM FUNDS FOR FISCAL YEAR
("FY") 2020-2021 IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $950,000.00 TO BE UTILIZED
FROM JULY 1, 2020 TO JUNE 30, 2021 AND AN ADDITIONAL AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED $950,000.00 FOR FY 2021-2022 TO BE UTILIZED FROM JULY 1, 2021 TO
JUNE 30, 2022, AS MORE PARTICULARLY SPECIFIED IN EXHIBIT "A," ATTACHED
AND INCORPORATED; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE ANY AND ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS INCLUDING
AMENDMENTS, EXTENSIONS, AND MODIFICATIONS, ALL IN FORMS
ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, FOR SAID PURPOSE, SUBJECT TO ALL

WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 20-0088 adopted on April 9, 2020, the City
Commission approved the acceptance of the Florida State Housing Opportunities for Persons
With AIDS ("HOPWA") program funds in an amount not to exceed $950,000.00 for the State of
Florida's Fiscal Year ("FY") 2020-2021 and an additional amount not to exceed $950,000.00 for
FY 2021-2022; and
WHEREAS, the funds are provided for the purpose of implementing programs that help
sustain and/or transition individuals and families with AIDS to stable housing in Miami -Dade
County ("County"); and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami's Administration recommends the allocation of Florida
State HOPWA program funds in an amount not to exceed $950,000.00 for FY 2020-21 and an
additional amount not to exceed $950,000.00 for FY 2021-22, as more particularly specified in
Exhibit "A," attached and incorporated, beginning July 1, 2020 for the purpose of implementing
programs that help sustain or transition individuals and families with AIDS to stable housing in
the County;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The allocation of Florida State HOPWA program funds for FY 2020-2021 in
an amount not to exceed $950,000.00 to be utilized from July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021 and an
additional amount not to exceed $950,000.00 for FY 2021-2022 to be utilized from July 1, 2021
to June 30, 2022, as more particularly specified in Exhibit "A," attached and incorporated, is
authorized.'
Section 3. The City Manager is authorized' to negotiate and execute any and all
necessary documents, including amendments, extensions, and modifications, all in forms
acceptable to the City Attorney, for said purpose, subject to all federal, state, and local laws that
regulate the use of such funds.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.

1 The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all legal requirements that may be
imposed, including but not limited to, those prescribed by applicable City Charter and City Code
provisions.
