A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION RENAMING "E. ALBERT
PALLOT PARK" LOCATED AT 3805 NORTHEAST 6 AVENUE, MIAMI,
FLORIDA TO "JOSE MILTON PARK AT THE E. ALBERT PALLOT GREEN
SPACE"; FURTHER DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO TAKE ANY AND
ALL ADMINISTRATIVE ACTIONS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE
RENAMING OF SAID PARK.
SPONSOR(S): Mayor Francis X. Suarez, Commissioner Manolo Reyes,
Commissioner Joe Carollo, Commissioner Alex Diaz de la Portilla
WHEREAS, the park located at 3805 Northeast 6 Avenue, Miami, Florida ("Park") is
currently known as E. Albert Pallot Park and was formerly known as Magnolia Park; and
WHEREAS, Jose Milton was a developer that provided affordable housing and has a
track record of humanitarian work in Africa and Haiti; and
WHEREAS, Jose Milton Jr., Jose Milton's son, has recently revitalized and renovated
the Park as well as donated art in his father's image to be located at the Park; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Commission wishes to honor Jose Milton for his
contributions to society and the City of Miami ("City"); and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 2-33(f) of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida,
as amended, the City Commission, by a majority vote, hereby deems this Resolution to be of an
emergency nature;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The City Commission hereby renames the Park to "Jose Milton Park at the E.
Albert Pallot Green Space."
Section 2. The City Manager is directed to take any and all administrative actions
necessary to effectuate the renaming of said Park, including bringing this item before the City
Commission as an ordinance to codify the name for the Park as "Jose Milton Park at the E.
Albert Pallot Green Space."
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption and
signature of the Mayor.'
1 If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
