KNIGHT CENTER ON APRIL 11, 2020; WAIVING CERTAIN FEES AND COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE CONCERT INCLUSIVE OF FEES FOR THE CITY'S POLICE DEPARTMENT AND FIRE -RESCUE DEPARTMENT AS REQUIRED PURSUANT TO SECTION 19-9 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED, FOR THE CONCERT. WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") desires to co-sponsor the First Annual Anti - Communist Concert in the USA ("Concert") to be held at the City of Miami ("City") owned property known as the James L. Knight Center on April 11, 2020; and WHEREAS, certain fees and costs associated with the Concert including facility rental, broadcasting, and life safety fees ("Fees") are a financial burden to the Concert promotor which the City desires to assist with; and WHEREAS, the costs for the required support of the City's Police Department ("MPD") and Fire -Rescue Department ("Fire Rescue") are estimated to be $3,674.92; and WHEREAS, it is anticipated that additional personnel may be needed for ancillary duties associated with the Concert; and WHEREAS, the Fees waived herein, including those imposed by Section 19-9 of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended ("City Code"), will result in a negligible financial impact to the City; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The City Commission hereby waives the Fees in an amount not to exceed of $21,500.00 consisting of the following for the use of the James L. Knight Center for the Concert on April 11, 2020: • • • • Facility Rental Broadcasting Fees Police/Fire/Life Safety $8,500.00 $3,000.00 $10,000.00 (not to exceed). Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.' If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
