A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT AND COMPENSATION OF JOHN
ELIZABETH ALEMAN AS THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE MIAMI
DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA.
SPONSOR(S): Commissioner Ken Russell
WHEREAS, Section 14-58(a) of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended
("City Code"), authorizes the Board of Directors of the Miami Downtown Development Authority
of the City of Miami, Florida ("Miami DDA") to employ and fix the compensation of an Executive
Director subject to approval by the City Commission; and
WHEREAS, on December 13, 2019, the Board of Directors of the Miami DDA
unanimously adopted Resolution No. 033/2019, attached and incorporated as Exhibit "A,"
appointing and setting the compensation of John Elizabeth Aleman ("Aleman") as the Executive
Director of the Miami DDA; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to approve the appointment and compensation
of Aleman as the Executive Director of the Miami DDA pursuant to Section 14-58(a) of the City
Code;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The City Commission hereby approves the appointment and compensation of
Aleman as the Executive Director of the Miami DDA.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
