Re: Wynwood Norte Community Vision Plan (Item RE.13)
Resolution of Support from Wynwood Community Enhancement Association, Inc.
Dear Chairman Russell and City Commissioners,
The Wynwood Community Enhancement Association, Inc. ("Wynwood CEA") is a Florida not for profit corporation
registered with the City of Miami NET Office, comprised of a diverse group of community stakeholders and
property owners within the neighborhood boundaries of NW 29th Street, NW 36th Street, and between North
Miami Avenue and 1-95.
The Wynwood Norte Community Vision Plan is a proactive community -led
initiative to plan for positive change and reinvestment in the community.

Over the past year, the Wynwood CEA has spearheaded this inclusive process to bring together various
stakeholders in the community to identify our strengths and weaknesses and ways to improve the quality of life
for current and future residents. In addition to community workshops held in May at Roberto Clemente Park and
Jose De Diego Middle School, community engagement efforts included surveys, walking tours, 1 on 1 interviews,
and several community presentations in the neighborhood.
Facilitated by PlusUrbia, the Wynwood Norte Community Vision Plan reflects the goals and priorities of a coalition
of residents, business owners, property owners, and community organizations - providing our roadmap for
community reinvestment and to help shape change and redevelopment in the neighborhood in a way that
celebrates its character and build off the tremendous community assets, including our schools, churches, arts &
cultural organizations and senior services.
Wynwood Norte: A Neighborhood to Take Pride In
The neighborhood has long been home to a diverse group of working-class families, artists and seniors. While
once a thriving working class neighborhood home to a diverse mix of ethnic groups, the neighborhood has
experienced disinvestment and an aging housing stock over the past few decades; families struggle to find
quality housing; local businesses have struggled; and our streets and sidewalk need attention.
Mission: providing a unified voice for neighborhood improvements and enhancing the quality of life of
current and future residents

WYNWOOD COMMUNITY ENHANCEMENT ASSOCIATION (WCEA)
Our objective has been first and foremost to foster collaboration and dialogue so we can work together as a
cohesive voice- to make our neighborhood safer, healthier, stronger and one that we can all be proud of. The
Wynwood Norte Community Vision Plan gives us a roadmap to facilitate reinvestment in the community, create
local business opportunities, add more quality housing options, activate our green spaces for kids and families,
and improve on connectivity and mobility for everyone from kids to seniors.
We are incredibly thankful to Commissioner Hardemon for his leadership and believing in the Wynwood Norte
Community Vision Plan and sponsoring this Resolution Item RE.13 for City Commission's adoption.
Thank you for supporting item RE.13 and we look forward to working together to implement the Wynwood Norte
Community Vision Plan and see the neighborhood flourish once again.
Sincerely,
Wynwood Community Enhancement Association, Inc.
